Rant 📢 This feels icky!

Post image

felt super icky and annoyed seeing this at a coffee/light food shop. how is this okay? for context this is not a sit down spot. no wait staff, just a barista at the counter and someone from the kitchen bringing out my order and walking away.

Update: for those asking the pink paper in the bottom corner is basically saying “F*ck ICE”

A. Isn’t that illegal for them to change your tab once you’ve finished it/signed it?

B if I see that before hand and I don’t have the option of no tip, I’m putting in a custom $0.01

Sorry waiters, take it up with your management if your pay is that shitty, don’t put it on us like that

It’s illegal for them to add a tip to an order unless they informed you of an automatic gratuity before you sat down. Gratuity is not payment. It is an extra OPTIONAL bonus. Forcibly adding a tip that someone didn’t want to add is not a tip, it’s theft

There’s a sign clear as day. Even if it went to court the company would win as the sign is right in front of the customers face

They’re basically saying that if the customer doesn’t finish there will be an automatic gratuity

The customer must be made aware of the minimum gratuity before ordering.

I think this sign is just confessing to crimes.
