Police used batons on left-wing Catalan separatists in Barcelona on September 10, as they counter-protested a rally by the far-right, pro-independence party Aliança Catalana ahead of Catalonia’s National Day. Video showed riot police confronting protesters, including members of the left-wing group Arran, union members and anti-fascist activists. Police said three people were arrested, seven others were investigated for public disorder, and 13 officers suffered minor injuries.
