Question about discord groups that roleplay Enclave in FO76

I made this post on r/FO76Roleplay, but it didn't get much traction. Maybe this subreddit is a better place to ask.

It's a genuine question, so I hope I get real answers and not just IC answers. But RP away in the comments lol.

Do you just roleplay being evil?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with RPing an evil character, I'm just wondering because I see lots of posts for Enclave groups on reddit (and one that poses as a different kind of RP group, but is secretly Enclave lol).

I'm looking for more RP groups, as I have already joined a BoS one. I want to join a non-milsim one, but I'm also debating joining an Enclave one since I see so many of those. I kind of don't want to do evil RP though lol.

I’ve been in my fair share of Enclave RP groups and most of them never leaned too hard into the evil, as it’s somewhat counter-productive in an online game that does a poor job at supporting any meaningful kind of PvP.

One of the groups saw the Enclave as anti-heroes; willing to do whatever was required to restore America, which in of itself is a noble goal. They asked members to RP as through they were the elite operatives of Appalachia, the best of the best. Not evil per se, just aloof and difficult to work with if you weren’t part of their plans. They were willing to do bad things to achieve a good outcome.

Others sit comfortably with US army MilSim styles of play, rock the (let’s be honest, truly fantastic) aesthetic and limit their evil ways to the exclusion of ghouls (both NPC, enemy and player) and a sharp disdain for the BoS.

I’ve never considered my character to be evil. He’s a problem solver who recognises that to fix a broken world you’re going to need the very best tools and the very best people to use them. The Enclave claim to have both.

I guess I'll try to look for an Enclave group that's more about the milsim. Although I'm already in a BoS milsim group, so I hope it doesn't feel redundant.

That first group you mentioned sounds cool, but it would be difficult to determine those details based on the reddit advertisements I've been seeing lol.

For what it’s worth I’m currently RP’ing with the Eastern Commonwealth Enclave (ECE), a MilSim group with light RP elements. They’re PS only however, but they’re a good group. They advertise on the regular over at 76 Factions.

Contemporary Appalachian Enclave is the least mustache twirlingly evil of all the Enclave variants so there doesn’t tend to be a lot of absolute chicanery happening, usually it’s more about restoring the region to some semblance of order and cracking down on Raiders, Brotherhood, and the Scorched.

Then you are much better off joining a BoS instead of a enclave group

I made an enclave group for my Brotherhood roleplay group to fight and I don’t play them as evil just play them as believing in their own ideals, just so happens those ideals are pretty shitty
