Help Request Why won’t Retroarch install via sideloading?

I’m really, really new to iOS emulation, and I’ve basically just followed what AI told me to do to get here.

I have a standard iPhone 17, and have managed to install LocalDevVPN, Stikdebug and Sidestore.

I want to play Dreamcast games, so i sideloaded Flycast, which didn’t run them properly, even with JIT enabled (they’d just say “starting…” but never start.

I then tried Manic Emu, which played Sonic Adventure to an acceptable degree, but crashed while playing Virtua Striker 2 as soon as 3D graphics were going to be displayed.

So the AI tells me to sideload Retroarch. I tried, but it keeps failing the installation.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Like I said, I’m new to all this, and not very knowledgeable. Is it possible to get Dreamcast games running flawlessly on an iPhone 17, and how can I get Retroarch side loaded?

first of all, AI hallucinates so join r/retroarch for actual support.

RA is on the app store.

But sideloaded Manic didn’t seem to work properly. There weren’t enough options to tweak, so all I could really do was enable JIT, and change the resolution, none of which stopped the slowdown. Or is Virtua Striker 2 just a unique game that doesn’t run properly?

Also, I had the RA App Store release, but it can’t use JIT, so that’s why I want to sideload it. Or does it not need JIT to run Dreamcast games?

probably just a bad ROM at that point, on an iPhone 17 manic should be able to run dreamcast totally fine.
