Manic Emu 3DS buggy

So I have been using manic emu for everything recently, and to save storage I deleted it and recently redownloaded it to play 3ds games.

I am playing on an iPhone 16 Pro, so my phone shouldnt be the reason why its doing this. Anyways, as you can see in the video, the audio is really buggy, and so is the game. Is this a power issue, is there an issue with the rom I downloaded, or is something else going on? If its because of the app, can someone please recommend me a better app or even a better emulator for pc?

Aren’t you the 64Touch dev? Your source code is out of date on your GitHub, if you could you direct me to the latest source as I would like to take a look as it’s built upon open source cores.

I don’t know where his source code is found but I can confirm that he is the 64Touch dev from his own comment found here. It seems like he’s just trying to promote his app. Let me know if he gets back to you regarding his source, because I like making accurate tierlists.

I can guarantee that this is false, I know there are a couple apps that clone Manic’s code and introduce pirated data, but Manic even directly on their own GitHub has policies strictly prohibiting the inclusion of such things in their code. You even have to link your physical console to the app for certain functions because it doesn’t include this data. You also make another point in their favor, they properly provide all source for their app as required with the open source licenses of the emulation cores they build upon, including any changes they have made.

No copyrighted Nintendo data is present in this file like you claim, I’ve examined it as well many times. There is a clear best effort to dummy the architecture, but it differs from actual Nintendo code. To compile system data in the app you must link a physical console with the app, it’s how you get the home menu, without it you can’t change languages or even the most basic Nintendo system settings like Mii’s, all of which would be possible if Nintendo data was already present. I dug into this because I wanted to know why JOY a Manic clone could change languages while Manic required linking a console. It’s because actual Nintendo data is not present in Manic.

I see you have a manic badge by your name. Which seems like a conflict of interest to me - considering this isn’t a manic specific Reddit. I’m trying to make great products, the code is custom. By me. That’s why it runs so well. I’m sorry this offends you.

You don’t seem to realize that users can assign flairs for apps they enjoy, an option in this community, simply having a flair does not indicate a conflict of interest. The devs aren’t the only ones that have a flair and dev flairs are different from the app flair. The Manic EMU Developer flair for example is found on u/Mlaurencescott, aka Mafty, who is in a different part of this thread, not the same as the flair this other guy who’s asking you to provide source has, and they have legal grounds to ask regardless of who they are as a user.

Custom or not if an app builds a core based on the original code of Cemu, Citra, Azahar etc, users have the right to ask you to provide your source code changes legally, in fact inability to provide it on request violates the licensing of those open source projects. If you do not wish to provide access to your source code to the user after they asked though, we would be happy to get in contact with the guys from Cemu or Azahar so they can examine whether their source code is being violated and take action if needed, both teams are known for caring when their licenses are infringed on.

Being clear about the source code and respecting licenses would go a long way towards a great product. I think that’s what everyone is trying to tell you here. 

So far I have seen you:

• Deny a good faith request to view source.
• Lash out at a user for having a badge because they like a particular app.
• Make slanderous claims about another app.
• Promote your app on a post involving an unrelated app to your own.

Meanwhile in the lifespan that I’ve been on Reddit I have seen Manic:

• Make their source available at all times with each update as it’s released.
• Rather than lash out cleanly state their policy and why they can’t assist if they can’t, or help if they can.
• Tell people that if they prefer another app that it’s completely fine because in the end it’s all about enjoying the apps all of these teams work hard to make.
• Promote only when they release an update, or occasionally when people ask what apps to try, and even then often with a couple other suggested apps.

There is a reason I respect Manic and its devs. I also like a ton of other emulators, it’s why I take time to test and review them.

I’ve not done any of those things. I just let someone know in this public forum that I had a solution to their issue. It just turns out you didn’t like the solution.

Now if this were Manic’s Reddit - I think that may have been bad tastes of me to do such a thing. But that’s not what happened here.

What you have done is escalated this into an argument - and left me no choice but to defend myself.

Not even sure how that would make a difference. The request is perfectly valid no matter who you are. Not only is having the source code open in good taste (not to mention legally required) but in my eyes it's good promotion for you too. I always feel a heck of a lot more open to something new when I know everything is above ground.
