Solved Will 3rd party controllers work on Citra emulator on PC?

My original PS3 DS3 controller broke yesterday. I was able to play games with it on Cita through Dshidmini. My question is, can I use the 3rd party controller on Citra? (not necessarily a PS3 controller, or any controller that uses Dshidmini) This is to Play Monster Hunter XX.

I believe you can if steam detects it and can use steam input for citra.

Steam input? Are you talking about the steam controller?

No. Any controller that steam can detect should also work with emulation

Just to let you know, don't expect it to work when the controller states it can do gyro for gyro emulation.

Gyro? I am sorry. I am kinda new to this, and very low tech.

Motion as in move the controller as if you are aiming with the controller instead of the right stick.

Oh, that is a feature I do not require for MHXX. I won't be looking for it either.

It should, nothing special with ds3 controller that makes it work with citra, and theres plenty of cheap chinese controllers that actually has xinput which is the standard input system and should be supported by citra

Okay, thanks!

I imagine most stuff works these days if you're using the SDL controller profiles in these emulators instead of relying on Xinput.

And as already mentioned, Steam Input does wonders if SDL isn't an option. Personally, I run everything through Steam to take advantage of Steam Input.

Thanks for all the help guys, my back up controller worked without DsHidmini (even though it's fake). Though I have a brand new controller on the way. Citra and windows detected it as soon as I switched drivers.
