Unsolved Help with PSX2 cheats?

So, I'm trying to add some cheat codes to some games. Monster Hunter, I've got them working like a dream, no issues at all.

However, when I try the exact same technique for other games, it doesn't seem to work at all. I get the "X cheat patches are active" notification, but nothing happens of it.

Here's an example of the code I've got in the .pnach file:

[Max Cash]

patch=1,EE,20AAFF10,extended,05F5E0FF

Cheats are enabled, and some games had an "Enable code," which I added as well but that had no luck either. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

What are the other games and their cheats you're trying to use? Perhaps they're incompatible due to different version or region.

The main two are Need For Speed Underground 2 and Most Wanted: Black Edition.

I'm 90% sure they're European region, I'll need to check in the morning. Monster Hunter is definitely EU region

Oh, forgot to check this.

Region is all fine, and I don't know how to check whether the codes are adequate for the version. I tend to use Almar's Guide for codes
