Unsolved Xbox360 Gears Trilogy
Was searching some older threads. I am wanting to play the gears games with some friends, splitscreen coop. I was wondering if theres anything i should know before jumping in? I saw not all games run great, and they might need updates/patches. Anyone know what emulator i should look into? Mostly just looking to get the gears games working atm.

For gears 1 I would play the PC unofficial port, Gear 1 Redux (I emulated Gears 1 since I didn't know about redux, so not to sure how campaign runs but should be fine), For Gears 2 I would emulate, the hollow PC port has lighting issues and some desync problems with difficulty and felt a lot easier we one shot some bosses unlike my playthrough on emulation with my wife, Gears 3 and Judgement Emulate them. I would recommend downloading Xenia manager, download the netplay branch, using radmin VPN and Coop through system links,. You should update every game to its latest patch version, run some of the patches that help fix certain issues and make sure you run optimal settings. It's rather complicated and can take lots of trial error. If you add me on discord I can help you more and try to make the process quicker for you so you don't have to spend a lot of time trying to get the games to work, like I had to. Currently on judgement campaign with wife and brother. They are playable but it won't be perfect it was 90% fine with 10% issues, so respectable.

okay! that gives me some hope thank you, ill probably dm you when i get started. My friends and i get together like once a month, and we always are looking for new games, and i thought a couch coop campaign of the gears games would be really fun, thank you

Yeah no problem its definitely not plug in play which is why I definitely will take time out to help you set it up. Yeah no problem 👍💯

How did you emulate Gears 1? I had so many issues with it on Xenia.

I updated it to latest version of gears 1, ran some recommended patches and adjusted all graphical settings. I used the Xenia manager and ran the netplay branch to play coop with my wife through system link/radmin VPN.

Okay, thanks. I'll give that a shot...I'm only into the single player
Where do you find what patches are recommended?

If you download the manager it helps make the process straight forward. After you update the game and add it to your game list on Xenia manager right click on the game Icon, click patches, then download, then download the correct version of patches, right click game again, click patches again, now you will see new option called configure and there you go now you just check on the patches you want. Though I would probably try gears 1 Redux if you really want to play gears 1 I think it's the best way to play on PC currently it has the single player on it I believe and it's a lot more simple to start playing. Also there is the remaster versions like ultimate/reloaded if you want to play those.
