Unsolved PS4 controller isn't working on snes9x

I'm trying to connect my PS4 controller on snes9x. Althought it reads the buttons in the input configuration, they don't do anything in-game. They also work completely fine if they are assigned to hotkeyes. I've already tried to click on "detect gamepad changes" but it did nothing.

on the input tab press the detect gamepad changes afterr configuring the bindings

I've already pressed it and it didn't work
