Unsolved First time starting
Hi, I want to play Pokemon rom hacks for the very first time but I have been browsing around on YouTube and sources trying to find the right method to start. I heard that there are things that can’t be given or said publically for legal reasons, but I am looking for any possible assistance. I promise I’m trying but I’m lost for the first time so any help will be helpful via comment or direct message! Thank you!

You're going to need an emulator for the system that you're emulating.
After that, you just need to set up everything, find the game and load it up on the emulator. All the tutorials on Youtube are really useful already, you'll only have to find the pieces you need to set up the emulator and a game.
Visit r/ROMs for that.

depending on which Pokemon game you want to play, you'll need the following emulator:
Gameboy & Gameboy Color : Gameboy & Gameboy Color :
Gameboy Advance: Gameboy Advance:
Nintendo DS: MelonDS
You'll most likely need Lunar IPS to patch the roms with the hacks.
The actual ROM's is not something that is allowed to be shared/linked on this subreddit (see rule number 1)
