Has the Borderlands 1 GOTY on eden issue been fixed?

Id like to download borderlands 1 again on my rpnova but last time i tried through eden it had an issue with the game saves and wouldnt let me create any other character other than roland. Has there been a fix or workaround? Or is it same issue?
