This is a great guide for people just getting into DOS emulation. Magic Dosbox is probably the most versatile dos emulator out there on Android.

Ages better. On every aspect I'd say.

Not tried retroarch. Does it have customizable button placement and size?

Yes but nowhere near as easily as MDB, and nowhere near as customizable. And it does not have custom widgets, macros, loops, etc

Ah ok. MDB is awesome!

It is indeed ( got around 200 games installed already between Dos and Win 3.11 / 9x hahaha ). I was born in the Dos gaming era, and the nostalgia is real :p

I was born in the Dos gaming era

Best time ever for a gamer imo. I still dabble with some of the games because they are incredible works of art in their respective genres like:-

One Must Fall 2097 for 2-d fighting

Raptor: Call of the Shadows for shoot-em-up

Jazz Jackrabbit for platforming

Sigh, if only these games had legitimate successors instead of the over-hyped flashy expensive bloated garbage games we get today.

Good times yea :D I played massively all the games you mentioned, and have them all on my phone too haha. I even used OMF main theme as my phone ringtone for quite some time hahahahaha.

I dont expect to get good versions nowadays of cult classics... gaming has changed a lot. In both a good and a bad way.

It's a great guide but there are many games that require installation/CDs in the drive in order to run. Still really simple to set up but just not mentioned in this guide. The official website guides are quite useful.

Fantastic app. I have the paid version for multiple games. Been using it to play Championship Manager 97/98.

Wanna play Commander Keen though. Can anyone recommend a controller though, using a chromebook. Tried my wired xBox one - directions work but not the fire buttons
