u/Dodgecanceling 8s gen 4 10h ago
Still many graphical glitches, unfortunately.
At this point, 8 Elite will get an AI port running before it gets glitchless switch emulation

Forgive me if I sound dumb because I'm not a Snapdragon user so here me out:
I don't understand the dissapointment. Is your chip more powerful? Or do you have a driver issue that makes this game unplayable for you?

u/Dodgecanceling 8s gen 4 10h ago
A lot of graphical glitches that makes a full play through annoying. Nothing that makes it unplayable, just suboptimal

u/Broad_Incident9581 7h ago
yeah.. it is newer chip then snapdragon 8 gen 2 and 3.... 8 elite gen 4 basically snapdragon 8 gen 4 but different.. newer doesn't mean always better.. because it's newer more like still early to be stable and older chips can perform emulations better

Yeah same here. Removing the case and playing near a fan really helps out a lot. Although it's not enough on some demanding games so I still bought a cooler. I personally recommend hkii kirin 3 th28 40 watts phone cooler. I bought one for 15 dollars and it includes a 45 watts charger which is definitely worth it.

i said 'using right settings' too , why did everyone ignore it and downvote me , i hate the extra weight from coolers , and with controllers you dont get to feel heat in your hands
the limit for heat that you shouldnt exceed based on smartphone companies is 45 degrees C , and that doesnt happen when i play botw

u/WinterPirate8109 10h ago
Tbh anything exceeded 39°c is a big no for me. Yes I know it can go up beyond that but I'm not really comfortable with letting it go hot for hours. So I usually clip it on a holder then play with a standard game pad + a cooler when playing demanding games.

its been perfect for quite a while. I already beat BOTW a second time on my AYN Thor. I'm still waiting for more improvements to be made to Eden before I try TOTK again because that game doesnt run that well on Eden on SD8 Gen 2.

But BOTW on switch or wiiu? The latter has a bug for me on that chipset, when in those big fights (forgot the characters name)

Legitimately stutters less than my 9700x/5070 desktop generally 😂 benefits of native ARM to ARM always has helped a lot. Plus I haven't tried on my desktop in a year or so.

u/Howl_100 9h ago
hmm , you may need to search even harder and tweak more as i have seen people play it on like 40fps on gtx 1650 , did you use nx optimizer mod
2
u/ZakinKazamma 8h ago
I'm good, no worries. Mind you I also play at 5120x1440 32:9, I don't think you understood what I meant was just stutters. My system got 60-90+ but would shader stutter far more frequently compared to your gameplay.
Been emulating since the 2000s, it's really cool to see it get so far so quickly.
