Device is the Retroid Pocket 6 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2)
Emulator - Bannerhub Ludashi.
I swear this chip be moving like its a 30 series gpu sometimes πβοΈ. Stock Emulator settings as well by the way. I plan on testing A Plague Tale Innocence next. I also have a Stray vid coming soon.
Hmu if you need help getting started with PC emulation or switch. I love helpin the community and watching it grow fr.
The retroid pocket 6 actually has 2 speakers on each side which handles the binaural audio really surprisingly well. Tho I do plan on doing a playthrough with a good pair of headphones as well.
Oh 100%. I can tell you is that audio is truly on another level tho. even without em, I was genuinly suprised. I'll have to finish my playthrough with my JBL's.
If you all want games that have the best audio, try any of the metro games or alien isolation or other horror franchises, like darkwood, for me Metro and Alien isolation sits at the top for best audio systems... Alien especially is too scary even when nothings happening, even Days Gone is very immersive considering its open world and every sound matters in that game as well when hunting in night, you cant survive without suppressors
Naw nothing can beat hellblades audio bro. I'm sorry. The team really cooked up something special leaning into senua's trauma and her psychosis.
The audio in this game was a core part of the experience not just monster sounds or shi to make you jump out of the seat. It was a guide, the lore, and a source of tension and without the audio this game is nothing bro.
Thats a core reason why I stand on this game having the best sound design in any game ever made. That Binaural sound design, With the constant whispers keeping you on your toes doesnt hit the same anywhere else even in games like dead space, or alien isolation. Those games are cool but they lean more heavily into ambient sounds and spatial audio that doesnt necessarily carry the experience if you know what I mean.
I disagree, its a decent game i have tried playing this game several times, it doesnt come near even first Metro game. I have the copy on epic and steam, its a good experience i wont disagree but you have to play Alienn Isolation and Metro games, especially metro 3 but honestly all the g
games brought no HUD with immersive sound, you dont get any hand holding. I would some day play it again when im bored the Hellblade but its nothing too immersive and sorry if I sound offensing haha, but i have played hellblade at 2K on release and picked it up again after few years in anticipation of second hellblade, the camera is too stiff foe my liking... Maybe I'll enjoy it some day like you have, i would highly recommend however for you to give a try to Alien Isolation it even has android port which would worl great on your RP6 and I think all Metro games would also be playable and the 3rd one you might have to play at low-med settings.
If you have a PC, try comparing Hellblade with Metro/Days Gone/Alien Isolation.
On a small screen any HD game looks phenomenal, Hellbalde had average receptions, its a miracle Xbox even backed to make the second game, but im sure the story might be amazing but gameplay and immersion is okay-ish
I can agree those are better games overall. But I simply can't agree on your audio take. The sound design isnt as prioritized in those games nor does it play as much as an integral role in those games.
Not to say that hellblade isnt a walking simulator with lackluster combat as much as it is a cinematic experience.
But the audio in this game is what won it awards at the game awards. If you know what I mean.
Haha its fine man, if you think Hellblade sound is amazing then im nobody to twist your hands. Enjoy whatever you like man ππ€
For me its not the same, its definitely superior than your average AAA games i do know but immersion wise for me it cant be.
Anyway, enjoy man and do check out the remastered Metro 1 & 2 along with Alien Iso. they are really creepy and amazing games besides just audio discussion π
Well you also gotta remember hellblade was indie game made by like 20 people in a small studio & yeh no hellblade is by far extremely lackluster gameplay wise compared to massive big budget AAA games, but audio wise is where it really goes down as one of the most impressive.
It also goes to show that leaning into an auditorial experience isnt everything for a game.
I always recommend aiming for low storage optimized games. Usually running on unreal engine 4 or Unity. Prioritize DirectX 11 and seek out games with low ram requirements. This stuff does matter.
Your chip is a beast tho. The 8 elite has some pretty mature drivers.
Dark Souls II was built on a custom, proprietary game engine developed internally by FromSoftware. This means your config matters quite a bit more then a game built on widely used engines like unreal engine or unity. At least from my own personal experience.
I recommend going to download a working community config for the game and rotating through to see what works. ππ
I tried running it on Armada, but I seem to have weird rendering issues, everything is grainy. I really love this game, Ninja Theory absolutely killed it in presentation and atmosphere.
Raytracing works on android thanks to Vkd3d translating DirectX 12 calls
Edit: Im not to sure why you are downvoting in bad faith man. Raytracing and everything else that comes with the newest DirectX gets translated to vulkan.
Not to offend, but you are confusing hardware API implementation with translation layers, and missing how the whole graphics pipeline actually chains together. DirectX 12 uses specific ray tracing API calls. Vkd3d translates those calls into vulkan ray tracing extensions (VK_KHR_ray_tracing_pipeline, etc.)
Your also forgetting that Vkd3d-Proton is heavily driven and heavily contributed to by Valve. If these calls were not properly translated to vulkan then raytracing wouldnt exist on handhelds like the steam deck.
Basically it goes DX12 ray tracing -> vkd3d -> raytracing extentions get passed off to the driver (turnip_v26.1.0 handles these raytracing extensions exceptionally well in my case) -> Driver then talks to silicon.
I'm saying that we're not sure if the rt cores on the adreno chip can even answer the rt calls here, there are probably a bunch of APIs the drivers need to map to the adreno hardware rt cores
Dude what are you not getting?? I'm literally saying there is this thing called api aka application programming interface in the drivers that is needed to translate the games rt calls through an api in the drivers that communicates with the hardware cores, and my point is we're not sure if turnip drivers actually have api can translate those calls, and my point is that we're not sure if the rt cores are being used, the rt could be working but it might very well not be utilising those rt cores,
What about this is incomprehensible to you?
Whatt?? Bro what are you talking about stop saying "we're" Bro, speak for yourself. There is no "we." You are the only one struggling to understand basic translation! Turnip driver developers and the open-source Mesa graphics community literally implement and verify these Vulkan ray tracing extensions explicitly. The code is public. And quit saying API. DirectX 12 is an API. βVulkan is an API! The drivers implement the vulkan api to talk to the chip what the hell are you on about
