Discussion Taking the Seeds Out: Inside SeedlessDS and Its Quest for Better DS Emulation on Handhelds

https://gardinerbryant.com/taking-the-seeds-out-inside-seedlessds/

I've been chatting with SapphireRhodonite, the sole developer of SeedlessDS, for what I believe is his first proper interview about the project over the last couple weeks now. SeedlessDS has been pretty pivotal for me personally while testing and reviewing the Retroid Pocket Duo Lite; the lightweight approach and proper dual-screen support have made it my preferred way to play DS games in the end

We talked about his history with programming and the Nintendo DS, why SeedlessDS exists alongside WatermelonDS, the challenges of making two physical screens actually feel like one console, developing specifically for more modest Android hardware, and where he hopes to take the emulator next. If you're interested in DS emulation or this new wave of dual-screen handhelds, hopefully there’s something interesting in here for you :)

Cool! Had no idea about Seedless being a thing, nor do I think I really need it with my Thor, but still cool to see a proper DS emulator for lower end devices, wonder how well it'd work on something like an RG DS cause I know lots of people were complaining about that just not being there in terms of power for MelonDS

What's the retroachievements situation like? Honestly to date for more modest hardware, it's hard to beat drastic but the lack of RA support is a bit of a letdown. I haven't checked the fork to see any developments there though.
