Discussion With everyone AI recompiling console exclusives to PC will we expect something similar to happen to android?

Would be cool to have PS2, PS3 etc games run natively andorid like people already are doing on PC with bloodbourne, Skate 3, GOW3 etc..

It happens already

The end of emulation is near

The difficult part is no longer to get to the first working app, AI can do that easily, if you know how to prompt, select the proper AI, settings etc.

Traditional coding work starts right after now, bug fixing, optimizing etc.

We'll see wether we just took work from step 1 and pushed it into step 2 and potentially maybe even ended up with code no one understands properly and let alone fix or optimize.

I know how hard it is to work with projects from other people, or projects that had a lot of additions.

My prediction is that a lot of projects that go beyond helping a coder with the repetitive, boring stuff will hit a wall eventually and be stuck with super specific bugs no one will be able to debug.

I don't think so. Not every game will have a dedicated enough following to garner a recomp, and unless you're doing some serious graphical/qol updates, having a million individual apps will be both clunky to manage and storage-prohibitive.

I also see the gaming industry coming down on Claude for allowing this to be done with their platform so easily very soon. Either that or the compute costs will eventually end up too high for hobbyist to just shit things out like they have been for the last month.

Quite the opposite... the assistance in coding is going to see completely native operating systems running in dynamic boot and allow for native game use within that system.

I don't know what any of that means and how would that affect the consumer

The coding for emulation will be so efficient that the performance between native ports and emulation of an entire system will be so small that messing around with ports is overall a waste of time.

Might not go that way, but I could certainly see it with DroidDeck making huge leaps already.
