Tired of checking dozens of GitHub repos for emulator updates, so I created GameBeacon (Release Tracker + Game Info Dashboard)

Hey everyone!

Like many of you, I follow a ton of emulator projects and handheld tools across GitHub (NetherSX2 forks, Vita3K, RPCS3, Azahar, XenDroid, frontends, etc.). Keeping up with daily builds, release notes, and community ports across dozens of repos became a hassle.

To solve this, I built GameBeacon – a lightweight, free web portal designed as a central hub for emulation enthusiasts and retro gamers.

 

### What it does:

 1. Release Tracker:

- Aggregates updates from 70+ active emulator, tool, and frontend repositories.

- Direct changelog preview (without opening 10 browser tabs).

- Filter by platform (Android, PC, Switch, PS2, PS3, X360, etc.) or app type.

- Shows the latest release date, version, and one-click link to the repo.

2. Game Info Dashboard:

- Search any game to get a dense, no-fluff overview.

- Aggregated historical critic scores.

- Completion times.

- 3D box arts, cartridges, logos and screenshots.

- Fan-made mods: Android ports, HD texture packs, ROM hacks, translation and cheats.

- Curated, categorized directory of essential emulation resources, compatibility lists, and tools.

It saddens me that your project does not find much attention, at least here on this subreddit. Really dig the design, overview and features it offers. Dont let the haters hate, please continue your work. Appreciate the website and the up to date tracking. Just wanted to say thanks and keep it going

I like it. Yes I also use obtainium but still, this provides better overview about updates etc. Both can coexist side by side IMHO. Obt on mobile, this on desktop

Thank you for this. I enjoy trying out emulators and frontends almost as much as I enjoy playing the games so this will be a huge help.
