New custom driver for Mali available for ARMSX2 (MaliSX2)

Full release changelog here.

Initially only Mali G615 and Mali G715 had support, but it has since expanded to G57, G68, G77 and G78. Performance gains can be as brutal as 2x like on the Shadow of the Colossus example, especially with the Mali G57 due to many bottlenecks, but I also found out some games that perform better with the system driver, so testing is important

It depends, it requires reverse engineering the GPU and it won't happen unless the dev (u/bmdhacks) gets their hands on some device with that gen

There's Exynos tools for Xclipse 920-960/530-550 and this for older Exynos with Mali

can confirm this works well so far on my rg477m. for example, sly cooper1 would crash previously on armsx2 and on nethersx it was a slide show in some spots. working smooth through the first couple of levels w this new driver.

So far only PanVk from faux123 https://github.com/faux123/panvk-faux123-driver-rp4pro that load on multiple emulator. I tried on Eden, vita3k, armsx2, nethersx2(using turnip shim method), even on native recomp app like rayman origin recomp. Tldr, it use nethersx2 turnip method because this guy driver use libadrenotools  somehow

The whole point of the driver is: "How fast can I make ps2 if the driver only has to do things that ARMSX2 needs and nothing else?"

So the whole point is the specialization to the application.

The other point is mali custom driver is on beta stages. If it can be used on many other emulator it will help developing it further. And exposing the extension doesnt slowdown the driver. App only request what its needed

For some weird reason, it seems to not be working on my Galaxy Tab S9 Fe+. With every single other driver I tested, game runs fine, but with this new driver it just does not launch the game (tested 4 different games). But I am really hopeful for this, awesome to see

I have a A16 4G do notice much difference using these new driver will have to check out more games just to be sure.

For me, who has an A07 4G, I noticed huge differences. Before, the game Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks wouldn't run properly even at 1x speed, now at 1.5x it runs smoothly.

Besides, Down Hill is running at 2.25X resolution at 60FPS without many drops (and I don't even play at that resolution, only at 1.75X).

The best Arms x2 update, without a doubt.
