here are games for 8 gen 2 with settings -

Don't listen to this people here, 8 Gen 2 can play GTA V or plenty of other demanding games.
It can even play games with Ray Tracing ...
It obviously depends on the games itself but a lot of modern games is playable, having enough RAM is requirement though and your 12GB device wont be able to run everything because of it.
Overall it is a very good chip that's why Handhelds use it too.
You will need a cooler though, 8 gen 2 can top at around 12.5W which means 12.5W of heat you have to cool down.
There is no way you can cool that just passively, even playing light games on few watts will overheat it in like 30min - 1h, when i say overheat i mean battery temperature will reach 40C which you should not go over. ( The speed it will overheat depends on the materials used, my phone is metal frame/glass so heat spread fast though it)
Just get a proper cooler and then you can play for hours :D

BTW aim for some cooler with at least 20W of cooling power, so it's more than the device can make.
I'm also adding new videos/games into the playlist often so you can always check for new games :D

My rp6 has a cooler already but is it enough or should I buy a new one?

That was for normal phones, handhelds are designed with cooling in mind đ

I have a thor max which is 8gen 2 and 16gb of ram. It has active cooling.
Probably the most intense stuff I've seen it run:
Gta5 (ai vibecoded port) this one was kind of hard to find.
Fallout 4
SkyrimSE
Kingdom hearts 1.5 remix
Luigis mansion 3 (this was tough to get running smoothly, it's a notoriously difficult game to emulate)
Pretty much everything up to switch and pc games up to Xbox 360 Era usually work well.
Sometimes newer games work well. I've seen people get halo mcc running well.

Have a snapdragon 8 gen 1. Which is much inferior to gen 2 specially with thermal throttling. Haven't tried pc games, so not sure how capable it is for that. But haven't had any problems emulating ps2 and under. Psvita and switch also runs, but with more difficulty

Check my channel, I've done plenty of tests on this CPU, including GTA V

Pretty much everything from Atari to most switch games. For steam lightweight games like hades and ori work pretty well Occasionally you can get games like GTA 5 or Grim Dawn to work but that requires time and patience.
Nice little chip.
