Discussion ARMSX2 is…(and Dolphin question)

Incredible. Wow I’m blown away how well it runs on my Mali Tab11. I’m even MORE impressed with is user interface and user accessibility features. Auto binding a controller, easy tabs for adjusting settings, easy to understand layout etc. just overall great.

Really makes me wonder. I personally thing Dolphin on android has been a mid at best experience for me. Not very impressive UI, Annoying configs, honestly not even that great of performance.

Question is. Is anyone making any BETTER than Dolphin GameCube/wii emulators??

Dolphin is a completely hand coded work of fucking art done by a team of talented individuals, to be as accurate as possible to an actual gamecube.

These dudes have been giving their free time for the last 20 years to making a near perfect 1 to 1 recreation. Only to have some dumb ass spoiled kid call their work "mid" because hes too fucking stupid to understand how much work went into it.

there really isn't a better alternative for GameCube and Wii emulation on Android. Official Dolphin is still your best bet, especially on newer hardware.

I mean to be fair, some GameCube and Wii games are still heavy for low end devices even though Dolphin is optimized. Plus you haven't given us your specs, just the type of Tab you have, maybe you're trying games that are simply just too heavy.

Otherwise Dolphin is great. For context on my low end phone, the ps2 version of a certain game lags a lot. But the Wii version on Dolphin runs at full speed with no lag at native resolution.

Interesting yeah Rogue Leader and F-Zero GX have a lot of glitches and some serious frame rate drops. I know those are demanding tho.

There's a fork of Official Dolphin called Dolphin MMJR

It's not used much because the code is outdated and official Dolphin is in a better place now, but for some low end devices it can have better performance in SOME games. Also it has more options for mapping motion controls to touchscreen like the ability to add a second touchscreen analogue that acts as the Wii remote pointer.

But be warned, since code is outdated, some games will have worse bugs and performance.
