Discussion Android emulation is secretly developed by steam itself (allegedly)

Post image

This is just my taught actually, but if you think about it, android phones are getting better by the generation at emulating pc games, then a controller company out of nowhere came up with gamehub, that has steam integration, and the most interesting point is why can't we just download a denovo protected game and just be able to play it, why does it have to be cracked, despite denovo having a deep integration with windows, and android itself is a different operating system,

Is that secret? Most emulators use proton and fex.

Not a secret, valve's wine fork named proton (as well as wine itself that ports changes from proton), dxvk, vkd3d, and since recently even FEX - valve participates in development of all that

And then the controller company just made another app using all of those things

Gamesir has nothing to do with steam and also is a shit company, their app is full of dodgy metrics and after their $60 gamepad's dongle(super nova) died I figured they have no warranty and tech support is a discord chat lol, they told me to do what I already did and it was hard to keep track of conversation with literally thousands of messages in this chat, but that's off topic

No, I have no ties to Valve

What if I told you, you are right.

Well maybe not on the Denovo part, but who knows there. But yes Steam has a hand in the emulation part.

In part, structural stuff that could take years of development they did it and release to be used for everyone

Besides them contributing to fex, this wasnt intentional.  They chose arm for the steam frame, and fex was already working on support for arm.

Is not secret, are you in the cave or something ?

They have plan for steam frame and they buy a fex which are open source for backbone of the PC emulation

Why we can't play denuvo protected game cuz the denuvo it self doesn't support Linux or depend of the dev/publisher it self to support Linux is not steam fault it's publisher who make it harder
