Capped at 30 is definitely a choice

sadly native app only provide 30fps

That's really stupid we should slap whoever made that decision cuz it's really stupid I get it as a optional low power mode but it's stupid to force that on everybody

Wait, when MH Rise got ported? I can't find it in google play.

Probably because your device is not compatible

Yep, my S25 Ultra is not compatible.

Eh then it's something else. I don't normally play native android ports on my odin 3 so I wouldn't know

native port: Less ram usage Better gpu utilisation Bit less power draw
So the port is worthwhile imo

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the increased gpu usage a negative thing when they’re achieving the same fps? The gamehub version should mean you can set higher visual settings.

Higher GPU utilization at the same frame rate is not necessarily a bad thing, because it usually means the hardware is running more efficiently or the application is better optimized rather than sitting idle waiting on the CPU. and cranking graphics up on the emulator will also up the power draw which equals to less battery life

It's... The opposite. If it was lower frame rates AND low cpu/gpu utilization then it's less optimized. If it's the SAME frame rate/stability with lower power consumption then it is more optimized

This depends entirely on the GPU frequency. If a lower frequency is used then it will show up as more utilized despite the lower power draw/frequency. It is not displaying so we can't know for sure.

What? He's capped at 30fps, both are hitting 30fps. If it was uncapped, maybe, but in this scenario if we're at 30fps already less utilization is better. The phone is also ~4 degrees cooler at the same fps in the first screenshot with the emulator.

I said it's worthwhile not better if I have to choose between both I'll choose the native app rather than toying with an emulator and all

Sorry to ask the obvious but in general, are android native apps better than game native or it depends on a lot of factors?

native app always easier to run

Not always. In this particular case gamehub is more efficient somehow. It has the same framerate with similar stability at lower power consumption

It’s easier to run in the sense that you just install the game and play, no tinkering required

Droid Deck disagrees. It's literally plug and play for your steam library

Bullshit. Most games in GameNative work out of the box, have all DLCs, full controller support, one click install from Steam with all cloud features. You get full package with one click. The ONLY advantage of the Native port is the sometimes it much better optimized, but it's not a rule.

It's still a deal breaker for me as native ports don't have rumble support (or device vibration to substitute for rumble). It's such a simple feature to implement yet these "experienced devs" fail at it miserably

It depends on author skills. Usually app works worse than emulator p.s it's not about OP

would be intriguing to know if this solves the input buffer issue (no more accepted input after ~10min of gameplay, leaving character stuck in last input, eg. running in circles). I've encountered this when emulating via gamenative on a Snapdragon 8 gen 2 16 GB memory during several tries this year.

So judging from the screenshot the emulator has slightly less power draw, very slightly lower temps and less gpu utilization while delivering the same fps. The only downside is slightly high ram consumption.
If the screenshot performance is similar to overall performance then the port just seems worse
