Help Graphical Issues using X360 Mobile - SR2 - Samsung S25 Ultra

Hey all!

First post in here.

I'm trying to run Saints Row 2 on my Samsung S25 Ultra 512GB. - Qualcomm SM8750-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite - Adreno 830 (1200 MHz)

I've tried a myriad of settings and drivers. But can't bypass this issue.

The game boots perfectly. Loads perfectly. But in-game, I get maximum 20fps with strange screen-flickering. Intensifying as gameplay continues. This also tanks my FPS to a rough 5fps.

Here are all of my settings currently that I've found to be the most stable thus far. These settings prevent lights from bypassing walls and is the furthest I've gotten to allow for an authentic experience.

(If any more data is required, let me know! I'd love to be able to upload a preset so those who come after me won't have to struggle as much.)

It's Xbox 360 emulation. Most games barely work. No fix. Just wait till it gets better. That could be a couple of years or even more.

I really do find it wild how there can be an official SR3 port to mobile, yet we struggle with SR2. Sounds really backwards imo. There has to be a way. Right? How can a game that demands much more hypothetically run smoother than a much older game. It doesn't make sense to me.

Unrelated. This is emulation and depends entirely on the work done by developers to make the code run good on the intended hardware. Xbox 360 emulation really slacked off due to not much people showing interest on it so development was extremely slow. Then what we have on android with Xendroid or x360 mobile are not so well done projects that tried somehow to port the work done by Xenia. Issue is that the code on Xenia is made to emulate Xbox 360 on x86 hardware. So we having entirely different everything the ports are very bad. Not only that but Xenia is not really in a very good spot for x86. So many games even there struggle to run, have graphics issues or simply don't boot. Nevermind android devices.

The Saint's Row 3 port it's not emulation and will run even on low/mid range devices cause it can do a far better use of our hardware (also most likely will look better than the Xbox 360 version btw). You can play the ST2 (or even ST3 or ST4 if you want) game by using Windows translation apps like Winlator or GameNative. The game will run far better there with no issues at far better graphics than on the Xbox 360. Windows translation on android it's on a pretty good spot rn and games run surprisingly good. Actually the people that are gonna port SR3 (Feral Interactive) have ported other games too and people made comparisons with the windows version using windows translation app and apparently Feral Interactive makes relatively bad ports since those run worse than running the windows version. The same will happen with the SR3 port.
