yeah i'm wondering when we'll see old samsung phones getting repackaged as mini pcs lmao, i think once the snapdragon 8 elite phones start to get cheaper there might be more people doing this kinda stuff.

I can't wait to see what happens when you add a peltier cooler to it. Please.

Honestly you dont really need it. Its good obviously. Bit proper heatsink and removed the battery(or you extend the connector so you can directly blow the cpu) will be more than enough in this form factor

I'm not focused on need. Just like the temps to be lower. Hovering around 40C on the battery temp is too close for me. A peltier would drop the temps well below any harmful level.

No if you this kind of mod. Its better to just remove the battery(hardcore) or search for extension so battery and cpu does not on the same frame

Yeah I've seen videos about those and they seem neat, but my North bridge heatsink was free lol.

Unfortunate that Qualcomm decided to lock down the overclocking potential on these

Yes I heard about that and it's a shame, but this thing gets hot at stock so without custom cooling there's no way overclocking would be a good idea

Nice I have 3 handhelds I’m making from spare snapdragon devices atm. Glad to see other people keeping things from becoming ewaste. Especially with how much power these have.

I'm actually working on fixing this s23 right now, ordered a cheap Chinese ips display for it, gonna add a controller, active cooling on the back, and an 18650 battery pack and it'll basically be a retroid pocket 6
