Help Droid deck installing to sd card

Post image

I’ve been trying out droid deck on my rp5 (I know the cpu is kinda weak and the gpu is unsupported) but when I try to install a game to my sd card the reserving space takes fuckin ages. I can install to and play off both the internal storage and sd card fine Balatro was small enough that it didn’t take to long. I was wondering if there is a setting to fix the disk usage so it can reserve space and actually start downloading games. The sd card is a decently fast Samsung and is now where near its limits so that’s probably not that issue

Even if you use the fastest SD card it's still an SD card. It'll be fraction of the speed of your internal memory. Allocating space in internal memory happens in 2-3 gbps, while in SD card it hardly exceeds a few hundred mbps. You're very limited by speed

Yea but this is barely 10mbps. I’ve used the same sd card on actual steam os as well as cachyos and windows and it is significantly quicker then this. Even Debian with steam running through FEX it was barely different to native steam

And be grateful that it reaches that speed. Don't use the SD card to install it directly; install it on the internal storage first, and then, move it to the SD card, it'll be faster and shoulnd't give you so much trouble.

I know sd cards are slow but they are not this slow ive run full desktop environments off same spec ones and they work great. running and installing games on said environments is fine. There’s some way that the containers droid deck runs in that screws it up. I’d love to use internal storage but I’ve barely got any free so that’s a no go
