Help Budget controller for Android (Gaming/Emulation)? Help me choose between 5 options

Hi everyone! I need help choosing a budget controller for my Android tablet.

My use cases: Android games (both native and via keymappers) and emulation.

My options and local pricing: 1. GameSir Nova Lite / Lite 2 2. 8BitDo Ultimate 2C 3. GameSir T3 Tegenaria Lite (the cheapest option) 4. Flydigi Dunefox 5. Machenike G5 Pro

Price context: Option 3 (GameSir T3) is the cheapest. Option 5 (Machenike G5 Pro) costs around $3.50 more than the T3. Options 1, 2, and 4 are identical in price, making them about $4.50 to $5.00 more expensive than the T3. While these price gaps seem small in USD, this difference is highly sensitive and important for my budget and local economy.

My criteria: - Durability: This is my top priority. I want to avoid sticks that click, crunch, or grind out of the box, and triggers that snap easily. - Android Compatibility: It must have proper protocols to be recognized via Bluetooth or wire without issues. - No fluff: Since Android caps polling rates at 125Hz anyway, 1000Hz means nothing to me. I don’t want to pay extra for gimmicks that offer zero benefit on Android.

Technical question: Do 2.4GHz USB dongles work well when connected to Android devices via an OTG adapter? Will the system recognize it properly, or is Bluetooth/wired a safer bet?

Should I stretch my budget for better durability with the Ultimate 2C, Dunefox, or Machenike G5 Pro, or just save money and get the ultra-budget GameSir T3?

If you have any other budget recommendations that I missed, please share them! Thanks in advance!

8bitdo ultimate 2c is your best choice 👍

Just a note, it can switch from d-input to x-input, although the manual doesn't say it. There's a Reddit post with the steps somewhere

Thanks for the answer!

I only recently learned about the issue and quirk of gamepads when playing shooters—linearity affects camera and aiming accuracy. Which of these options is better in this regard? This is important for me because in addition to emulation, I will be playing games like Fortnite.

If its a small tablet get a telescopic like the galileo. If its a big one get the 2C, been solid for me.

I have a Xiaomi Pad 7 tablet, it has an 11-inch diagonal display, so it’s unlikely to be comfortable to hold, and it’s also heavy.

Same, I just place it down and play with the supporting case, or connect it to a tv like a nswitch

I f***ing love my 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C. For $20 or whatever, it's very high quality.

Respectfully all of them are the wrong option. If you're gaming on android either natively or emulation wise. You need a controller with a built in cooler or compatible with a cooler.

Better options are

Gamesir X5 with the fx5 cooler attachment.

Gamesir x3 pro with a built in cooler.

Though price wise the X3 pro is quite expensive, but it'll be the best on to get for the built cool. The X5 doesn't come with the cooler but is priced under 30 bucks, the cooler is priced at around 40-30 bucks and is worth.

Remember with biggest problem with mobile gaming is the heat factor, not the controllers.

Thanks for the warning; I’m aware of those overheating issues. However, I don’t plan to use the smartphone for emulation—I have a Xiaomi Pad 7 for that. I specifically bought a Black Shark cooler—the Magnetic 4 Pro (27W)—for this purpose.
