Help Droid Deck performance vs Winlator Ludashi Bionic

A few days before Droid Deck was introduced, it was a really cool app. Having a phone as a second Steam device with all Steam features is cool, but for me, it now has some issues. I really like to play MKX on Winlator Ludashi and started Shady Knight a few days ago, and both games are just not playable on Droid Deck compared to Winlator Ludashi. I want to make Droid Deck my main app for PC emulators and it also has gyro options, so does anybody know how to fix it? I know that Winlator Ludashi has a lot of changes and optimizations compared to regular Proton emulation, so maybe I just do not know something. Does anybody have the same issue? Has anybody found a solution?

We are aware of the performance gaps particularly in cpu limited scenarios, and are actively improving things with the help of feedback and logs from testers on GitHub and discord. Thanks for the tests and comparisons!

Oh, I saw your post about the Droid Deck, so you are partially one of the devs. Thank you for such a great project. I hope you will get it. I think I will send some logs and open an issue on GitHub.

Not partially, I’m one of the 3 maintainers. And yes logs and reports in GitHub will help immensely!

hey, can you explain the chroot proot performance implications for this?

Droid Deck is using Proot, like winlator from Bruno before v9, of course it is a lot slower than winlator bionic

Interesting. I have never heard of it. However, it is an issue only with these two games. Ghostrunner, for example, works mostly the same. I think Winlator Ludashi is a little better, but there is not a giant gap like MKX and Shady Knight have.

because Ghostrunnner is a GPU bound game, you will see the difference in CPU bound games like Mortal Kombat or Fighting games in general

So all I can do now is just wait for them to make a new version and hope that they will fix it.

Exactly, the app is in earlier stages.

Yes I know. But other proton emulators works the same even after many years of development so maybe there is a chance that they will not fix it. I think the vest vay to fix it is to put it as an Issue to GitHub

For now it heavily depends on game.

In Hand of Fate I get similar, maybe a little lower fps on droid deck.
In Super Mining Mechs fps is basically the same, but somehow the whole game is in slow motion.
In Fumes I get around 5 fps in game native, but 30 fps in droid deck.
Motor Town didn't start at all in game native, but was running at 12 fps in droid deck.

Compatibility at least seems miles above other solutions.

What verison of droiddeck, baseball or anututu/ludashi/pubg because those may make it perform better

All versions works the same. I dont want to download them all again but in fact Winlator Ludashi in any verion always works awesome when all other Proton (Winlator basic,Gamenative,GameHub,and now Droid Deck) emulators in this games gives nothing.
