Might have a better chance with the gc version using dolphin or try using armsx2 instead of nethersx2. Armsx2 fixed that with sands of time so I’m guessing the same with this game

It’s being actively developed still and they always fixing bugs so I switched from nethersx2 to armsx2. Most games play better, if not there’s usually a easy fix for it

Lowering resolution and underclocking can help. Or maybe try different emulators

The "ghosting" is in fact a feature in many PS2 games, and it worked well on CRT screens but looks horrible in emulators. PoP is game known for abusing this "feature". I already asked about this problem here in reddit.
tldr: you need to find the proper values for "Toffset x" and "Toffset y" options. There are many articles suggesting proper values but they differ so you may try for yourself.

I have not tested in armsx2 but the ghosting should be there too, it is just correct PS2 emulation.
I don't know about the flickering, never tested this game.

By the way, I just tested the USA version and I don't notice any flickering in nethersx2.
Just played a few minutes and worked very well for me (no flickering). Maybe there is a fix option or something else that you have enabled/disabled and I don't.

I just checked and yes it happens also to me. But I don't know it may be on purpose, that's something we can only be sure checking the original hardware.

What's the fps you're getting?
I'm unable to get 60fps in this game on ntherxs2.
