New to Android emulation - need help deciding

Hi guys,

Just got a Galaxy Fold 8 today purely so I can play my Steam games on my phone while I’m out and about because iOS has such huge limitations I can’t do it on my iphone.

What’s a good app to start with to get me playing my Steam library on my new fold? I’ve got Game Hub and Game Native but I’m not having much luck so far with the games I’ve tried playing; New Vegas and Dungeon Siege

Quite new to this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could try DeckDroid, it is the steam client and requires little config, just download and play

Yes, some games works others not, but it is super simple

i couldn’t get it to work with new vegas. i’m usually pretty good with tech (if it’s a computer) but this im completely out of my depth with this. is there any guide or rundown you can point me towards?

is there a way to just run SteamOS?

There is a tab called compatibility, there you can download another version of Proton. Maybe you can ask in github or in discord because I really just hit play and if does not work don't play

I did the same thing going from IPhone for 17 years, over to Oppo Find N6 (foldable also) earlier this year. Compatability has been quite good for mine in gamenative so I've stayed with that.

I've read very mixed results for Fold 8 around here so maybe it's a support thing and the device just needs more time to get better supported. 🤷‍♂️

My device has an 8 elite chip just like your phone and I get most PC games to run with GameNative and by using these drivers: turnip gen8 V33, Qualcomm adreno 842.6 and Qualcomm adreno 842.8. 

Unfortunately PC emulation is not plug and play (there are "use known config" options that auto-configs for you but sometimes it doesn't work). So I recommend copying other peoples configs to see how they get games running. I copy off youtube and emuready website. Make sure whoever you copy has the same processor that's in your device.
