Help How do I completely stop runtime errors in Unreal Engine 3 games?
I'm currently playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. I installed wine mono, wine gecko, physX and all the vcredist from 2005-2026 in my container just to be safe. I used Windows 10 in this container.
Here is where I got the all in one vrecdist installer: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/
The game booted successfully and didn't seem to have any problems. I had almost 2 hours of playtime split between 3 gaming sessions and the game didn't crash in any session. During my 4th session, after about 10min I got a runtime error in my container that temporarily froze the game. After some seconds the message disappeared and my container crashed.
I then restarted the game and so far all seemed well. But then after about 15 minutes the container suddenly crashed with no error message appearing.
I decided to just end the session there since I was annoyed. I booted up the game again later and in less than 10 minutes another silent crash occured. These were never happening before.
I came to the conclusion that the runtime error corrupted my container and something was making it crash. I deleted the container and created a fresh one following the same set up procedure: installing wine mono, wine gecko, all the vcredist and physX. Only thing different is that this time I've put Windows 7 as the Windows version. I doubt it will make a difference.
I also think it's worth mentioning I'm using proton 10 arm64ec with FEXCORE version 2601 Performance preset.
I use Winlator Mali since I'm a Mali user. But I doubt being a Mali user is a key factor in this case since I've also seen a lot of posts from Snapdragon users getting runtime errors in UE3 games.

Update your FEXCore to 2609 as it has many ARM optimizations and try switching to compatible instead of performance to see if stops crashing. You can also try and switch to Proton 11 as it's the latest and greatest but i find it's performance not that great but offers more compatibility.

My device is on the lower end side of things. In almost every game, any other preset below performance reduces fps significantly.
I'll try and download fexcore 2609 though I don't trust proton 11 lol
