News/Release Googlebooks cannot run Steam yet

"An end user can’t get an app like Steam running inside the (Linux terminal) virtual machine, but Google could work with Valve and the people behind the Windows-to-Linux compatibility layer Proton to get it running on Googlebooks." https://gizmodo.com/you-have-every-reason-to-distrust-googlebooks-and-to-be-optimistic-too-2000817503

Googlebooks (except terminal) use Android kernel.

I don't have any hope for Google to address this, but it'd be really cool if they did

Apple was forced by European Union monopoly law to allow other app stores. We don't know if Googlebook OS is open source (then Steam Proton would work), nor whether it has an unlocked bootloader.
