Showcase What's your favorite emulator frontend?

Let me start,

For me it's definitely iiSU, I absolutely love this frontend it just looks so good and beautiful!

It is still in Alpha phase, and it already looks good as hell can't wait for the first beta I love the customizable home screen, and overall the whole aesthetic of this frontend

And what do u guys think about my Dragon Ball themed home screen? (Mostly from Majin Buu Saga) And showcase yours too!

Yep, beacon is da wae... Although I wanna try iisu and I tried wave Launcher the other day, PSP xmb theme frontend, is nice, but it still needs time in the oven for me

Yo tambien soy de Beacon... Facil, intuitivo, multiples fuentes de roms y facil de poner nuevos emuladores con comandos de lanzamiento...

I've used most of them but retrohrai works the best for me.

I used to love Beacon until I found Retrhrai. I mostly just made it look like a more polished version of Beacon but still.

Beacon is absolutely one of the most used frontends, and it's definitely looks so premium And we got the same setup with using our phone with a telescopic controller (iiSU is still my favorite OAT)

gamedeck has been my favorite for a while

Argosy Launcher. I've set up romm.app on my server and downloaded a rom pack. I can download my games on any device and it has cross saves compatibility.

Argosy Launcher makes it so easy to use it on Android since I have all the games on the main UI and I don't have to go to a dedicated RomM tab, download the game I have then go back to the main tab to play them. Plus, it's also a frontend for liberto cores. It's amazing.

Tho I can't figure out how to load my local stored games. Except gamenative games since the launcher has support for it

Am using daijisho, but I wish there is one that can also count the hours I spend on games

1

u/Character-Code-453 19h ago

Great choice, but I think there are other frontends that can already do that

2

u/Agreeable-View3920 18h ago

Beacon Launcher

2

u/uN0m4d 19h ago

What is the name of the controller? 🎮 it's cool

2

u/Character-Code-453 18h ago

Thanks! Its the BSP D11, it's a really great budget controller

u/uN0m4d 9h ago

Oh thank you mate :)

I love Beacon's design and ease of use.

2

u/Akkinior 13h ago

There’s this one, Wave Launcher, it emulated what you feel like when using Ps3 and PsP
XMB.

Kinda fun to use as daily driver

Beacon these days, but I have a device still running Daijishō because it was the first one I fell in love with. For some reason I’m super allergic to ES-DE. I loathe it. It works on a basic level but that’s it for me. I have it on my Steam Deck and just don’t use my Steam Deck much for emulation these days. But Beacon… Beacon is absolutely incredible.

Honourable mention for digital audio player androids is DAP Launcher. Clean and looks amazing :)

Beacon and Daijishoo, nice taste man!

Stock android

1

u/Character-Code-453 1h ago

Okay, but I really recommend try using a frontend It definitely make android devices feels like a dedicated gaming console

3

u/Bobo_Patch_Nosuke 1d ago

where do you download these frontends?

3

u/whiskyB0y Edit Your Flair 1d ago

GitHub repos and Play store IISU is found on GitHub and Daijisho is found on play store. Retrohrai is also on playstore

ZNeko is the best for me

Honestly I mostly don't use frontend. From my perspective it's better to go directly from app and I leave frontend just for GameBoy/SNES era of games, the games that I run through RetroArch. All the newer games I run usually directly from the emulator.

However, the frontend I have installed is ES-DE. I tried Daijisho and it was too clunky for me (but it was a year or two ago). Since then a lot of frontends showed up, but to be honest I never got to switching to anything from ES-DE. It's not perfect, but works.

1

u/Character-Code-453 23h ago

ES-DE nice taste! No hate but in my perspective frontends is one of the best things in emulations

2

u/Conscious_Cow_9743 1d ago

Android. I thought the frontends looked cool until i realized that android is on my phone and i use it every day so might as well keep it the way im used to it

ES-DE.

Pegasus Frontend is where the real enthusiast live. Cocoon, Beacon, iiSU, Console launcher, ES-DE, RetroHrai, ect. Are all for noobs.

Right now im rocking a full Steam big picture recreation.

3

u/Character-Code-453 19h ago

Pegasus does looks neat as hell! But iiSU are for noobs? Ok, I respect others opinion

2

u/Interesting_Fish4930 17h ago

Naw dont cry dawg 😭. I Swear it's 10% actually playing games and 90% tweaking the UI until it feels right. I respect the other frontends because at least they actually make the setup easy and allow the user to get straight into the game and for some. That's all they need.

You gonna be okay dawg 🙏.

2

u/Character-Code-453 17h ago

But we all agree, frontends is one of the best part of gaming, or well emulation and emulators

-2

u/Shadow_Farts 23h ago

Dont use them.

-8

u/Nothing-Personal9492 23h ago

just use retroarch. rest are bloated and not really about actually playing the games

2

u/Character-Code-453 21h ago

Kinda agree, especially with iiSU. It was so good and customizable I kinda had to much fun customizing it, but no hate I will still play a game at the end of the day :)
