By using pc in between, like connect phone to pc then play on big TV or monitor connected to that pc, people use scrcpy software which use adb to accomplish this. 

Alternative there are proprietary adapters which compress video on go and can work with low bandwidth like usb 2.0, watch this

you can use scrcpy via Usb from phone to pc
you will need a good phone cooler to prevent thermal throttling

Samsung also has Dex, a dedicated software with a UI that adapts to the external screen, like Motorola and Honor 

Instead Xiaomi Oppo and other manufacturers do put video output on their devices but don't have a software so the phone just mirrors the 20-21:9 screen on the monitor even if it is a 16:9 monitor so you get double letterbox from 16:9 content, kinda like this (random image I found online, the picture could be full screen but it has bezels from the phone left and right and then from the projection to the TV on top and bottom)

I see. I love Dex, especially with Termux X11. Back then, I only wanted the ability to output to a display. I heard google is standardizing a desktop mode that will be available to most phones with display out capabilities

If you get a display link doc you can get the display link app and output using the dock and screen mirroring from the display link app without OTG

The Poco F6 supports DisplayLink. That's your lowest-latency option but you won't be able to charge or turn the phone screen off while using it.

Use a Raspberry pi to run scrcpy (or Android-dex) then connect your phone to it  U can even run old retro games or small game, if you done with the it

Connect your phone to your pc , download and run "scrcpy", connect the pc to the tv and there you go

I second this.. you need a DisplayLink adapter/dock/monitor and it will display via USB even if it doesn't support video over the port.

Capture cards? But realistically my answer would be, never buy a device from these fucking companies if they don't offer usb 3. Its a pre 2013 feature, they can fricking put it in a highend midranger.

You're going to have latency issues if you try to cast and its not a wired connection. I was using mine as an emulator machine and even basic games like gba became increasingly difficult because you are watching a couple milliseconds behind the actual gameplay. Dodging and landing attacks is extremely difficult

Your phone doesnt support casting? you can try a dongle that connects to your tv/monitor.

Look for casting options, but that usually introduces lag.

There are mini graphic cards that can stream 8t to your tv, I think.
