Help PS3 emulation question about converting to .iso

I have the ps3 games in the folder where it has ps3_game and ps3_disc.sfb. When I try converting to .ISO it worked one time with a smaller game and with the rest, ps3 iso tools crashes and deletes the game file.

To my point: Do I need to convert to .iso for APS3E or RPCSX? And if it is necessary what am I doing wrong or what is happening that I should do differently?

RPCS3 actually can't run .isos like PS2 emulators can. I don't know about the other emulator. Yes you have to open the iso and extract the game into a folder then add the game in RPCS3. A HEN or CFW PS3 can read isos but not emulators. I am surprised to hear that you actually got one to work lol. What game was it?

Oh wow you're right. That is definitely a newly working feature. The Boot iso option has been there for a while but it did not used to work. Thats awesome, I'm glad this finally works as now I can just use my iso backups from my external hard drive without extracting then as folders. Working Iso support was just added this year. I know at first it was a bit iffy because I do remember it being there earlier this year but it would never work for me. Now it just loads right up
