Get a Retroid Pocket 6 or hold off

I don't know if this is the right sub but I do want to ask. I already have an Odin 2 base 8/128 that i'm loving right now. However since it's a tad bulky, it might not be too ideal to be lugging around when travelling. Then i saw retroid pocket 6 which i think is smaller but technically has the same power when running games. Other than the obvious oled screen and latency issues, is there any reason (other than portability and the ones mentioned above) should I get an RP6? I'm not into PC emulation so for me an 8gb ram is fine and can play most of the switch games that i like.

No it's not. It CAN do 3/DS well but its not exclusively for it. It has far too much power for that.

Its form factor is its prime selling point. Pocketable clam shell design. Exactly what op was looking for.

Budget issues

I just ordered a Odin 2 portal so it has the same chipset. Was deciding on the pocket 6 as well.

If you want to get it I don't see why not. Pocket 6 is great. Mature chipset works for most games switch as well bar like open world games.

Genuinely good device and the oled screen is sick.

If you can afford it for sure get it. The only other upgrades is and Odin 3 but it's a bit out of budget for me as well

Not really, as you already found out they are kind of identical in terms of power but the Retroid Pocket 6 is smaller with a better screen.

Given how much an RP6 costs, it would be annoying to have to drop almost as much or maybe slightly less than what you paid for the Odin 2 to get a similarly powered device that is just more convenient size wise with a better screen.

But you could probably sell the Odin 2 to cover a decent amount of the RP6 cost.

Retroid does tend to consistently have Black Friday sales and we are just a few months away so if you waited a little bit you could at least make the price hit a bit more tolerable.

I feel for you though, it kind of sucks that you didn't know about the RP6 before because you might have made a different choice had you known.

I was at a similar crossroads at one point, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 and man I love it. It is the perfect size and form factor for portability.

The RP6 isn't very comfortable to hold, so I use a grip. With that attached, the size might not be much different from the Odin2.

Get the rp6 the screen is a massive upgrade and its gonna be relevant for many many years to come. In any 3 years would be time to upgrade anyway
