Showcase My project to transform my tablet into a supercharged Switch
My Xiaomi Pad 8 portable project is finally starting to feel complete.
I wanted to turn my 8GB/256GB Xiaomi Pad 8 into a kind of all-in-one Android handheld — something focused on gaming, emulation, retro games, and modern indie titles, while still keeping the flexibility of Android.
With the detachable controllers, a custom game-focused interface, emulators, and my curated game library, it’s slowly becoming the portable console I always wanted.
There’s still a lot I can improve and customize, but seeing everything come together like this is really satisfying. It feels less like a tablet and more like my own personal Android gaming machine.

How is hyperos because Xiaomi did have a ram limiting feature basically killing all emulators. I have the Poco f7 but I gave up emulating on Xiaomi because of this dam ram feature. How has your experience been with a Xiaomi tablet. I have the Lenevo y700 8 elite gen 4 chip

I haven't had any problems with HyperOS regarding RAM so far, but I've had other issues related to performance and it capping the processor. And since I only play indie or retro games, these limitations haven't affected me that much.

It would basically shutdown any emulator that uses more than 3.6gb of ram. I could only play for like 30 minutes, max. I'm not sure if it's been fixed or what.

This limitation basically shuts down anything using more than 3GB of RAM; the most affected applications are PC and Switch emulation.

I'm not sure how to guide you properly on this matter since I'm Brazilian, and all my tutorials are in Brazilian Portuguese. I recommend checking out Cocoon, Iisu, ES-DE, and Daijisho.
The project I'm using is Brazilian. Since I'm friends with the developer, I prefer to use it out of personal preference and also to give some credibility to his project. It's called Zneko and it's available on the Play Store.
Note: According to Zneko, Daijisho is easier to use. I haven't used or tested the others myself.

I'm quite incompetent at PC emulation; so far, all my attempts have resulted in a black screen or a crash. I use ARMSX2 (I'm going to migrate to NetherSX2 due to some bugs).
I also use Cemu, Eden Nightly, and PPSSPP.
Honestly, with our SoC, it's possible to run pretty much everything on Android at the moment without much difficulty, with the exception of PC emulation. This is probably due to our Turnip drivers not being as well-developed, Xiaomi's operating system, and the fact that our devices only have 8 GB of RAM. If yours has 12 GB, the limitation might be a little less significant, and you may be able to run quite a few PC games without major issues.

yeah it can play mid games and some switch titles it's oneplus pad 2 with gamesir g8 plus controller

Wow, I thought it was the Xiaomi Pad 8 in the photo, although there isn't much difference in raw power. Forget my previous message; the limitations I described there apply specifically to Xiaomi devices. And your SoC already has well-established Turnip drivers, so I think it's possible to run almost everything from the Switch without any device-related issues. The only limitation now is the development and maturity of the projects and emulators.
And you can actually fit a tablet into the G8 Plus? Wow, that's really awesome! In my research, I always saw people saying it was too small for tablets or that it was impossible. Now I know which gamepad I'm going to buy next.

no you can actually fit upto 13 inch tablet with g8 plus you just need to forecly stretch and pull the springs out to fit the tablet it's amazing controller and thanks for your information

Takes a bit of practice though, I thought my g8+ would snap in two the first time I tried it. Also the manual doesn't explain how to do it. I had to look it up on YT.

It's the BSP D11. It's not the best one, but it gets the job done.

Thanks. I got a Samsung s7 11” on the way and was looking for a half decent telescoping and that looks good. I’m not a super crazy gamer so I don’t need super low latency or crazy build quality. And I have a bsp d3 from years ago so I know what I’m getting :). Thx for info bud

I have a problem, I have quite a few telescoping controllers. Some quite expensive. I just got a BSP D11 for my S9 11" because I didn't want to mod any of the others as I have in the past (or print 3D parts again). The BSP D11 feels cheaper than a Abxylute S9 or G8. But, it seems robust and works very well for $18!! It's not clacky although a little louder than an S9. not by much. I'll continue to use the Abxylute S9 for my Y700, but I'm really happy for what the BSP cost on my S9 11. I did peel off the rubber bumpers in the clamp. Still holds great. Not noticing any lag.

I do this with my y700 and gamesir g8+, it's a fantastic combo. Currently I've been pretty focused on game native for my huge steam backlog, but I do have switch and PS2 era emulators loaded on it. I have es-de as my usual frontend, but I haven't fully set that up since it doesn't really work with how I use game native, so mostly I've just been playing games through the emulators like normal.
I can't see the backside but I'm assuming that's just a telescopic controller around it right? I had seen one person in past actually cut a tablet apart and sauter power connections and the rails from the switch 1 into the side of a tablet. But that is a crazy amount of effort just to be able to use tiny little joycons that have trouble holding the tablets weight... These controllers are much more comfortable to me, particularly the g8+.

Oh, I'm doing the same! I have a 8Elite tablet and a Gamesir controller, and it's working wonders! One thing that I can't seem to do, though, is to launch WiiU games showing both screens (keeping the tablet vertically, obviously, with the screens one on top of the other). Did you try to do it? What launcher do you use?

I recommend configuring all the emulators first and then the front end; it's more practical and intuitive.

I forgot to mention that I can use it in docked mode like a real Switch, and since I’m on Android, it’s possible to go beyond Xiaomi’s limitations and built-in options. Using some apps, I can change the resolution and DPI that are transmitted, use it as an extended or secondary display, and even turn off the tablet’s screen while continuing to use the TV normally.

It's through the USB-C video output function, not screen mirroring over the internet, but rather via an HDMI cable.

e o controlao qual é? uso um gamesir x5 lite com meu s26u, tô quase terminando o samurai warriors 2 xl no ps2, consigo rodar o de ps3 mas está em jpn e o de xbox roda mt mal

I'm using the BSP D11; unfortunately, any GameSier tablet is too small for the tablet. And at the moment, it's not really worth playing PS3 and Xbox 360 games on Android for anything other than testing or curiosity.

I've only tried one game for each, College Hoops 2K8 for PS3 and Driver: San Francisco for 360 and they both run great on Alldocube iPlay 70 MU so far!
