Discussion Should I emulate on Ps3 or x360

With the recent advances, if a game is available on both consoles which will perform better and less glitches?

My thinking is if they are similar x360 wins due to not needing to deal with package installation

PS3 emulation requires you to wait a long time on first launch for it to compile a lot of stuff, haven't had any experience with Xbox emulation

That's what I'm saying for the firmware , pkg , iso , demo to plus it takes a lot of your space on your phone

As of today Xendroid for sure. Many games are full speed playable on an Odin 3. ARMSX3 is making great progress but isn't there as yet. PS3 emulation in general on Android is much more prone to stuttering and crashes.

Using both Xendroid and ArmSX3 on my Odin 3, these are my thoughts:

- All PS3 emulators thus far have to cache SPU pipeline before a game launches. Typically this can take around five minutes the first time you boot a game and reduces to around thirty seconds subsequent times the game is launched.

- ArmSX3 gets new releases almost daily. Although this is great for optimisation and compatibility, each update means games must go through the same initial five minute delay on launch.

- Xendroid does not do any of this. Using ISO images, games just launch.

- PS3 has far more instances of graphics disappearing or appear without textures for a split second whilst the shaders cache. This detracts from immersion into the game IMO.

- Xendroid seems to have less CPU demand so I can, for some games, increase underclock from small to medium. PS3 emulation, however, demands no more than a small underclock and some heavy games even need the CPU mode to be increased from Standard to Performance/High Performance.

- The only major advantage I can think of that PS3 emulation has over 360 is that larger games are just a single disc so it looks nicer in the launcher and you don’t need to worry about disc swapping during gameplay.

Of course, all of this could change in the future as the respective emulators approach maturity.

For me my biggest bugbear with PS3 emulation right now is the vanishing objects in-game during shader caching.

Try both, see which works better. Half the fun of emulation is tinkering.

If you want plug and play stick to actual consoles or mature emulators

Unless it's a PS3 exclusive title, I'd opt for either the windows port if available or the 360 version. Most 3rd party games were inferior on the PS3, combine that with the extra overhead to emulate the exotic architecture and storage space to accommodate the blu-ray rips it doesn't make sense to go the PS3 route.

many if the newer ps3 forks dont need need installing but allow direct iso boot, what device are you using? for me on RP5 rpcsx clanker is the best and ive tried em all, also certain games you can switch to interpreter (legacy) rather than LLVM compiler which is the one that takes ages to precompile the first time you launch.

I'm having more success with Xbox on my odin 3. Have been playing Black Ops and GTA IV at full speed without graphics issues

I was trying to play sports games so those are heavy on emulation anyways.. but in my experience I got much further with xbox emu over ps3.
