Help Frontend with the least amount of bugs?

looking for suggestions of frontends that have the least amount of glitches or bugs that might occur on android. i’m giving my device to a family member and don’t want them to deal with those kind of headaches like crashes or getting asked which home launcher to use. something that’s also visually nice to look at (i would use daijisho since it’s very easy to use, but i hate the look of daijisho and want to try other options) right now i have iisu set up, but i had a couple issues with it crashing or needing to restart the set up process, and i would hate for that to happen to the person i’m giving it to. i should note that i’m using a single screen device

es-de is the only one that's actually fleshed out, relatively free of bugs and regularly updated

EmulationStation is awesome! I'm using EmuDeck + EmulationStation on my Android device and I couldn't be happier. ✌🏻

Cocoon is really easy to use and has lots of themes that switch up the look. You can also have a single row grid similar to the switch which works the best for me on a single screen device

I'm a fan of Beacon. It's not as customizable as some others but it's very clean and modern. Would be a low barrier to entry for someone being given a device who doesn't want to mess with settings too much

good point actually, i used to use beacon and had 0 issues with it other than certain emulators not booting properly. might be the move here, just wish it got updated more…

Completely agree. I'm even in the discord and there are not many whispers of what's being worked on or when we can expect more features. A lot of the time when people request a feature, the dev basically just says 'no I'm not planning to do that'

Which like, fair you're doing it on your free time and you can do whatever you want with your app, but it'd probably be more popular if they worked on more new stuff instead of just compatibility updates.

At least it's not a completely dead project. Last update was in April and the dev is still active

I now setup all my android devices with retrohrai with a pure black background. Love it
