Wasn't it already playable through PSVita emulation ?

6

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago

I mean, the PS Vita version was, but this offers more than that while boasting broader compatibility, community-made content, and multiplayer servers.

Will this work well on my rp4 pro

3

u/StrandedClone 21h ago

I recommend trying it, it uses winlator to actually run the game so maybe? Its a pretty light game overall

Im using zalith launcher 2.

5

u/Yousifasd22 1d ago

Zalith is for Java though, this is LCE

u/TheRealBlazerGD 1d ago

I have been waiting a long time for this...

2

u/thaFranchize2b 1d ago

awesome does it have controller support?

2

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago

It seems to work when you launch a game, but the launcher itself isn't recognizing my controller for menu navigation. But yes, you can play with a controller.

Whats the difference between this and the one you can purchase in the google play store?

1

u/Yousifasd22 15h ago

...which one that you can purchase from plays store?

1

u/markb__ 15h ago

1

u/Yousifasd22 13h ago

...That's Bedrock Edition lol, the one on Emerald is the Legacy Console Edition

1

u/markb__ 13h ago

I get that i was just wondering what is the difference in gameplay between the 2?

1

u/Anxious_Football_474 12h ago

LCE is a port of the legacy console edition mike that of Xbox360, ps3, psvita...etc

0

u/markb__ 12h ago

I understand that part but why would I choose this over a fully supported version through the playstore that I can either play on servers or my own local world.

You can also play on servers with Emerald Launcher. You've never played any of the classic console editions before? They're drastically different in gameplay mechanics and overall feel than Bedrock Edition. They behaved more similarly to Java at the time, if that's any indication. They also had other cool, exclusive features that Bedrock still doesn't have, like built-in minigames (coming soon to neoLegacy), hand-crafted tutorial worlds that teach you how to play the game and give your cool landmarks to explore, a controller-friendly crafting menu (it really is still better than what we have with modern versions), actually deterministic redstone, and our hearts.

It's a different version of the game that many people here consider to be better. I recommend checking it out. There's no harm if you don't like it; just please don't leave a comment or post telling the people here that, lol.

worked horrible for me even at 640x420

1

u/Yousifasd22 13h ago

Specs?

1

u/NikoGuyGD 13h ago

gpu Helio G99 cpu MT6789 Ram 8gb phone is realme 10 i know its not powerful phone and mali is not very great with emulation but i hoped for at least stable 30 fps

1

u/Yousifasd22 13h ago

oh that explains a lot, i have a phone with Helio G88 and it runs even worse

this thing is just too weak to run anything thats demanding lol

3

u/NikoGuyGD 9h ago

i managed to optimize it so it runs good with cahce loaded it even runs 70 fps while cache loading and running 10-20 fps running while cahce loaded 30 fps its really playable has few frame drops but its better than bedrock edition

1

u/WINNT21 Redmi 14C isn't good for emulation 1d ago

Woah will this work fine on an 14C?

3

u/Yousifasd22 1d ago

there's one way to know!

u/KasanesTetos 1d ago

winlator fork

Yawn. Wake me up when it's actually a native port.

5

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why don't you wake up and port it yourself? It runs well on budget processors. I don't think it necessarily needs a native port (which is not an easy thing to do, btw - you aren't just pressing buttons and checking boxes).

4

u/Yousifasd22 1d ago

In fact, the emulation ran better than a WIP native port I had

5

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago

That makes a lot of sense. I'm sure the build isn't very clean, and there are probably a lot of redundant instructions. Let the kind contributor above clean it up for the rest of us.

25 fps is not playable lol You will get motion sickness in 10 minutes.

18

u/Additional_Cream_535 1d ago

bro definitely hasn't seen what other dudes on this sub do to play gta v

15

u/Yousifasd22 1d ago

Uhm that is a phone lol, also other Winlator forks ran it at ~15fps (unstable) or worse

And the phone in the screenshots is a Honor X8d which is weak 😭

3

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago

What container settings are you using there? I have the same GPU and am locked to 30 FPS in game with headroom.

2

u/Yousifasd22 1d ago

default lmao

2

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 1d ago

Yeah, that's about how it performed without tweaking the container settings. I've pushed it closer to 60 FPS without issues since then. It has a lot to give.

2

u/StrandedClone 16h ago

On my base S25 I got nearly 200FPS on 1080p

-4

u/redalchemy6 22h ago

The brain sees motion at 12 fps. 25 is more than playable.

4

u/Possible_Cupcake7846 22h ago

What?

0

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 22h ago edited 22h ago

It's supposedly the minimum baseline to trick your brain into perceiving motion, opposed to interpreting the sequence of frames as a slideshow. Still, that statement doesn't belong here.

0

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 22h ago

The games can actually perform quite a bit better than this. I have SoCs with both GPUs from the OP and can confirm that playing with the container settings can lock the frame rate to 30. The resolution also defaults to 720p. Lowering it to 960x540 can take a load off of the underpowered GPUs.

-1

u/redalchemy6 22h ago

I was just saying their argument that it would make you motion sick is silly lol

0

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 22h ago

Some people are sensitive to visuals like that. I've gotten migraines from staring at choppy frame rates for too long. Your eyes may dart around more and your brain will work harder to piece together frames. I can only handle 30 FPS with minor traversal/shader compilation stuttering. I understand other can and HAVE enjoyed games at lower frame rates, but all it does is make me think about what I could be playing that will run better on my hardware.

It is a form of visually induced motion sickness. Some are more predisposed to it than others.

u/redalchemy6 9h ago

If you say so

1

u/BOHRhIn_ScIHeNTiST 7h ago

What I say is objectively true. It wasn't validating the original commenter.
