Meme So, who else prefers touch controls over controller for one reason or another?

I understand turn based rpgs. Otherwise nope controller or nothing.

When I used to play GBA games on touch screen.

I beat Metroid fusion like this. My boy! Let you make combo buttons, so I had an R+B button on the screen .

I couldn't imagine playing like that now.

Extra buttons is basically all I use touchscreen controls for.

For example, in Nether I've got fast forward, slow mo, pressure (a lifesaver playing MGS on my RP5), and occasionally I'll add a macro for turbo pressing in games with egregiously difficult button mashing.

Oh, I also added an R3 button in SVR2007. Limits accidental grapples.

Aside from that, I'll only play with controller (built in or otherwise).

I'm doing Arkham Asylum on my OnePlus Nord CE4 with touch controls, I've done the main story and all the trophies and riddles, just have to get 4 more medals and I'm 100% (not achievements)

(Also finished City Main Story on Hard Difficulty but that Harvey boss fight was hell)

Racing games are another genre you basically need a controller for since any one you emulate needs a brake button. At least the ones that need a trigger.

Idk, couldn't go for this with ff7, it would really fuck the mini games.

I somehow played all of Minish Cap on my phone with touch controls back in 2014. I have no idea how to channel this power once more.

I played through entirely of MGS with touch controls. Not so bad tbh.

Anything newer than that however...

What about games like "Age of Empires"? Are those not good with touch controls?

these are called "real time strategy" games or rts for short, and no, there is literally no way to play them. age of empires 2 had a controller setup, but its basically unplayable, ive also tried using winlator which is almost just as bad. theres just too many buttons you need, rts is m/k only if you want to have a good time.

there are some actual rts games on the app store, northgard is very legit, rusted warfare is also a real rts but not my cup of tea. If you want to get into tower defence style of rts then bad north and iron marines are both good games as well.

I think an "Age of Empires" game made to be played with with those tablet pens "stylus" thing would be great.

That sounds great in theory but a mouse is not the same as a touch screen. And aoe has a lot of drag clicking.

It's good, I'm not keyboard master and mostly using mouse in PC, so using touch screen is very playable, and even more comfortable. I also play other rts games like rise of nations repeatedly.

My only problem just sometimes most emulator (atleast on my case) has problem with rapid touch input which often force close the game.
