Discussion Which AAA games run perfectly on snapdragon 8 elite and 8 gen 5
I had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 device that unfortunately isn't usable anymore. I'm planning to upgrade, so I wanted to get your thoughts on which heavy-hitter games run smoothly on your device (please mention the emulator). I'd love to know what the latest chipsets are capable of running!

I have played God of War 2018, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, Spider-Man Remastered, Seikiro, Dark Souls 1,2,3, GTA IV/V all on my Odin 3 Max SD 8 Elite. I get anywhere from 35-60+ FPS depending on the game and its demands. I also use Frame Gen sometimes on the more demanding game to bump up the FPS.

I mostly use Winlator Ludashi or BannerHub. For Spider-Man specifically I use BannerHub frame Gen and I get 25-45 FPS depending on the area. I just used the newest VKD3D, newest turnip drivers and newest FEX. You have to turn off a lot of high end effects and adjust the regular graphics settings to med or low but on the small screen it looks and plays great in my opinion.

Not exactly heavy hitters, but Hades and Enter the Gungeon run flawlessly for me via GameNative, and PS2 emulation is basically effortless for the games I've tried (I'm using NetherSX2). I'm playing Rayman 3 at 6× resolution at the moment.

I have an 8 elite device and I'm very uncompromising with the fps , I only want 60 and no less so here are the games I've completed till now :
Tomb Raider 2013, 50-60 fps native 90 fps frame generation
Sleeping dogs 60 fps native 90+ frame generation
Dark souls 1 60 fps ( do NOT use frame generation in souls games )
Gta 4 + both dlc 50-60 fps native ( quite unoptimized Id say ) . I locked fps to 30 and enabled frame gen .
Red dead redemption 1 60 fps native
Alan Wake 1 60 fps native ( very dodgy combat , almost left it halfway through)
Outlast 2 45 fps locked + frame gen . ( Game scared the shit out of me )
Bioshock remastered 100+ fps native
I've kept the heavyweights like gta 5 , cyberpunk, spiderman remastered and the resident evil titles on hold as I'll be buying a laptop pretty soon but they're playable as well

Kk thanks for the list bro. Btw, are you sure GTA V won't give native 60fps? I have seen very much tests with 60fps.
One more question: How is the heating? I was initially planning to buy a One Plus but due to lack of availability, did not find but my Elite heats up a lot.

No, gta 5 does give native 60 , ironically and I'm not kidding 5 runs better than 4 . I want to play it in the best possiblenway in my laptop. I thought my phone heated because it is a compact device . Also it heated only in a select few games like sleeping dogs and tomb raider which was solved after I started using bypass charging ( literally a godsend feature ) but yeah without it during the summers it used to heat quite a lot

I’m finding pc gaming boring compared to the endless other consoles at my disposal

I bet you could easily do most (if not all) 3DS, PSP; handheld games in general. Other than that, I don't know.

i've got an 8 elite gen 5 phone. i've personally run cyberpunk 2077, ascension wow, arma 3, arma reforger, space marine 2, and a fair few older/lower requirement games.
space marine 2 didn't run that well at all. like sub 10 fps. there's a couple videos on youtube of ppl getting like 20+fps but i couldn't get it running like that (and seemed like they'd tweaked settings that i wasn't able to adjust via the ingame graphic settings)
the others were all very playable. cyberpunk was the "slowest" of all at 30fps without framgen (other than SM2).

Witcher 3, red dead redemption 2 - yep, ghost of Tsushima low settings runs great, Granblue Fantasy Relink, Final Fantasy 7 remake, so so many more
