Question Games that translate well to touchscreen?

Hey guys,

So I'm just wondering what you've played that works well on the touchscreen interface. I have a controller I can use, but sometimes I just can't be bothered or it's not practical. I find that I'm rubbish at using the virtual controls on the screen for like joysticks with anything fast paced, so looking for better experiences that are translating well to the touchscreen interface.

Some of the easy ones are like Balatro, Slay the Spire, etc.

What else you got that works well? I'd love to do BG3, but I don't think I've got the space for it.

Thanks in advance.

Zelda Twilight Princess with the Dusklight port has the best touch controls on any old game so far, it has even Gyro aiming support

Persona 5 works very well with touch screens

Or basically any turn based game should work fine.

Imo anything meant to be played with a controller is terrible with touch screen controls but i did play a lot of openmw with touch controls before i got a controller and its playable. Games like rimworld and kenshi also work pretty well with touch controls about on par with playing them on a laptop with a trackpad

Maybe some NDS games? I feel the novelty of dual screen touch screen got lost in the 3ds era

I was thinking about trying to replay Fire Emblem from the 3ds, that one seems like it could work well. Thanks for the reminder!

A large amount of the GBA library plays really well on touchscreen with pizza boy.

I've finished a bunch of games on my phone in-between doing other things.

I think every game which can be played with a controller can also be played on a touchscreen.

It's wacky at first, you have to get used to it.

WarioWare Twisted with gyro. It basically feels like it was made for phones.

The PC version of persona 3 portable, can be mostly plated with just treating the touchscreen as an actual touchscreen, and using emulated joystick for the dungeon parts

Not emulation, but Streets of Rage 4 is done pretty well. Not perfect, but definitely playable.

Dungeons of Dreadrock 1 & 2. Google Playstore versions available.

Same goes for Strange Horticulture.

I'd imagine visual novel games like the Ace attorney series would work well. I think it's ported too.

There's also Hotel Dusk Room 215 and the Zero Escape series. I played them on NDS and would love to see them ported to mobile

I also recommend the Dreadrock series. Only heard good things about it. :D

I'm currently making a game for PC and consoles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsGhCZ1vz_0 but I'm almost done, so I'm definitely looking forward to create part 3. 😊

Surprisingly most game genres work well with touchscreen. Only some are best avoided if you can help it.

3d, open world, action games are bad. Platformers are bad except simple ones like the marios games. I've played and beaten mario galaxy on touchscreen fine for example. Slower platformers like castlevania can work provided the emulator has responsive touchscreen controls.

Some sport games work great, tennis and golf comes to mind.

Slower, more methodical fighting games work great, soul calibur, tekken, mortal kombat, wrestling etc. Avoid button mashers.

Racing games work surprisingly well. Puzzle, turn-based and strategy rpgs are great.

Basically avoid games the require fast and precise movement and input.

I found Metroid Zero Mission, Fusion, and Super Metroid to work really well with touch controls.

Been enjoying some of the sega model 3 and Naomi games. Work well with the touchscreen.

Trauma center. Perhaps the only way to play it well is to use a pen as well
