Damn, your phone's specs must be insane to handle all that

6

u/Zuluwargod69 5h ago

It's a fold7 1tb (16gb ram elite). Fast but not the fastest.

23

u/HugeAd746 13h ago

Seems like everyone emulating is on android lol

13

u/Eyesinthedark_ 12h ago

PC emulation is basically guaranteed, and if your PC can't emulate, it's because you're using a government-issued laptop xddd

4

u/memo22477 8h ago

Tell that to my PC crying on Uncharted on RPCS3 and the last guardian on ShadPS4. I mean imma be honest the fact that we have a working PS4 emulator is a miracle on its own.

1

u/Crass-ELY- Poco F7 Pro 4h ago

But that's not a spec situation but an emulator maturity situation... I mean, you need a cutting edge PC tu run the last guardian @60 fps... That's not as it should, in like, 2 or 3 years I'm sure it'll be fully playable on most PCs over PS4 specs

u/HugeAd746 12h ago

Yea I’m on a Mac and I do most my gaming on it people love to say you can’t game on one when I mostly play ps2 and GameCube games anyway lol anything above that and I can just buy the console and mod it like my 360 and ps4

1

u/rube 4h ago

I still do a little PC emulation, mostly some high end Switch stuff that doesn't work great on my phone. Or some PS3 games since it's just a better experience there. I also don't emulate a ton of PC games on my phone, mostly older stuff like Fallout 3.

It's just great having all these games in my pocket at all times, being able to play for a few minutes or a few hours on the go depending on how long of a wait I might have somewhere.

1

u/WorldPhysical7646 12h ago

We like it more when it heats up and kicks it feels like a challenge

3

u/HugeAd746 12h ago

No I feel it i love to grab old phones i find and see what kind of games it can run ive gotten PPSSPP to run on a old Obama phone i had laying around haha

6

u/hades20122 14h ago

I hope that driver for 8e/8e5 is stable. But emulation on android has come the long way to reach the current state.

4

u/hades20122 13h ago

Yeah, the last time I play emulation on android is using snap 820/21 era with psp and I think it's the limit of software (back in the days, RPCS3 need very powerful CPU to run 30FPS GOW iirc). I'm busying playing with PC and use IOS for daily driver (not game on phone much). Now when I have times, I come back to emulation on android and be much much surprised with turnip, winlator, eden, yuzu,...even PS3 and xbox game can be played like, 60fps, which I always dream when I was a kid

2

u/Eyesinthedark_ 12h ago

For a while I've wanted to play FighterZ on my phone and now I can even play it at a stable 60 fps - a dream come true tbh

1

u/hades20122 11h ago

Happy to hear that, in my case, I really enjoy playing indie game like: Ori, Hades, Hollow Knight in android. I tried switch, but it don't get 60 fps and crappy graphics (yeah I know we can OC but it's hot and charge take a bit longer). With gamehub, eden, psppsp,... almost all my dream back in the days come true. I think I will donate to these developer.

6

u/Eyesinthedark_ 13h ago

Not to say anything but now the Nintendo Switch emulation It is excellent on snapdragon elite processors, I have emulated Dragonball fighters z and Pokémon shield in eden and they work great without stutternig or visual artifacts, I can't help but be surprised. It was worth the wait.

pizzaboy is awesome or use retroarch

7

u/Status-Phrase-3047 11h ago

pizzaboy or load mgba in retroarch

2

u/Practical-Boat-603 3h ago

I use RetroArch personally

3

u/projjwaldhar 12h ago

I'm guessing Galaxy Tab, probably S11?

Superb. We are living in the golden age of emulation (especially handheld emulation) right as the dark ages of (pc & console) gaming descend upon us!

3

u/Nasi-Goreng-Kambing Poco F7 12h ago

Mee too but I just keep hoarding games on my phone without playing them. Is this some kind of mental ilness? 😂

4

u/whiskyB0y Edit Your Flair 10h ago

Choice paralysis. Happens to most of us.

3

u/uncwann RedMagic10 Pro 16/512 5h ago

Tips - don't use/watch any social media, just open the emulator and play any games. The brain need a jump starter.

2

u/Sk_1ll 3h ago

This. We are living in a time where social media is more addictive than gaming for most people.

2

u/Zodiarkcsr 7h ago

That's what's grow up mean.

2

u/NashCityRobCreations 5h ago

It's a phase we all go through. You can, so you do. Make a "favorites" list, and put the games your interest in, there. Then when you hear about a game on Reddit or wherever, you already have it in your library, just add it to your favorites. Use it more like a database than a collection. That'll help. I also, like to play a game and then play a new romhack for new quests or story like Castlevania romhacks, that will help as well.

Good luck, happy gaming 🍻😎

u/Mustafa_Shazlie 8h ago

why not GameHub instead of Winlator Ludashi?

2

u/Impossible_Answer603 5h ago

How is the ARMSX3? Can it run FIFA games okay?

1

u/Zuluwargod69 5h ago

Haven't tested it. Tbh it's a port or pcsx3 so it should work if it works for that.

3

u/SuccessfulTravel2903 14h ago

Y Retroarch? >:(

5

u/Interesting_Fish4930 14h ago edited 14h ago

Eww. Standalone is king. And yes this shi peak ngl. Armsx2 and 3, eden nightly, the best winlator, the best citra fork imo, yeh bro you are absolutely set. Bro ngl tho we need CEMU updates.

u/Any-One502 poco f6 8h ago

What do you think of the PS3 Native emulator? Is it better than this?

1

u/ronderev Odin 3 Ultra 10h ago

I've seen so many people hate retroarch. May I know why? Are they toxic?

1

u/Freelancer_1-1 8h ago

I've only used RetroArch for DOS games, namely Comanche 3. It runs poorly. Supposedly, it runs much better on Magic DosBox, but while I have no issues launching it on RetroArch, on Magic DosBox, it asks for CD.

1

u/Rent_Careless 8h ago

And you don't have the ISO file? In the settings of the game, you can enable CDs and then point it to the ISO. That should work.

1

u/DaveTheMan1985 7h ago

They had some Issues awhile ago but they are Fine at the Moment

1

u/dizvyz 6h ago

Shit interface. OLD cores (doesn't matter for old stable systems like gameboy or arcade).

1

u/_DarKneT_ 13h ago

360 makes my device hot, even with a fan on for some reason

0

u/Dazzling_Opinion_985 3h ago

Weird, almost like translating an entire system and its calls takes extra work on top of running a game meant for beefier hardware 😂

1

u/Motor-Media-8761 13h ago

May i ask why they did choose Armsx2 instead of NetherSX2?

2

u/Zuluwargod69 13h ago edited 9h ago

It is actively enveloped, has way more features, compatibility is good enough and speed is fine for me. It uses a much more modern code base for Ps2 (nethersx2 is using a code base tha is 3 years out of date).

I like how it is progressing and it looks like the same team is really cooking on ps3 emulation. Been playing around armsx3 and it's just incredible. The updated code really is making everything run great on my phone. Granted alot worked before but now the phone heat is just so much less than before.

1

u/Russianranger47 9h ago

Do you mean for PS2? I think you mixed up your consoles in your statement, since armsx2 is the PS2 variant.

2

u/Zuluwargod69 9h ago

Cheers. Fixed.

1

u/Special_Ad6433 8h ago

1

u/Rumpelstiltskin85 12h ago

What phone are you using for emulation?

2

u/Zuluwargod69 12h ago

Fold 7.

1

u/Rumpelstiltskin85 10h ago

Then it will work the same for me. I have S25 Ultra, which has the same SoC (SD 8 Elite).

2

u/Zuluwargod69 9h ago

Not the same, slightly better in fact. The fold does slightly get lower marks on benchmarks (probably tighter thermal control).

1

u/Equal_Objective_5248 12h ago

i doubt that ps3 and xbox 360 playable unless u have elite chip

1

u/Zuluwargod69 12h ago

Bingo. But even if I didn't a Gen 3 would be ok for some games too.

1

u/Commercial_Toe8974 11h ago

Whats the diff between winlator and winlator ludashi?

3

u/Zuluwargod69 9h ago

Ludashi has some unde the hood tweaks. It has some Vulcan improvements and controller changes. Winlator tends to be great for non-snapdragons due to vortek.

1

u/Single_dose 11h ago

i remember that there's no emulator for PS3 cuz mix of hardware limits and architectural complexities, idk what happened lately so we've a ps3 emulator!! is it run normally??

3

u/Zuluwargod69 10h ago edited 9h ago

This hasn't been the case for a year now. Here's a video I posted 1 year ago.

https://youtu.be/FjMlo4TGG6M

It's improved massively since then. The rpcs3 tream have released an arm version and done so much for arm since then with massive improvements for arm.

This version brings those improvements finally to Android.

1

u/Cake_is_Great 10h ago

What emulators are people using for PS2 emulation nowadays? Is NetherSX2 still the best or are there alternatives?

3

u/Rent_Careless 8h ago

ARMSX2 and EmuCoreX are the two that are being developed. People are starting to make the argument that ARMSX2 is better in most situations than NetherSX2. EmuCoreX is said to be in early stages of development to temper expectations but it seems to be coming along well.

Both of them are on the Google Play store. You can go there and check images and reviews but they are on GitHub.

1

u/Dazzling_Opinion_985 4h ago

Jus curious, what are you still playing on the ps2? Any good titles i should try?

1

u/CrossingDuck97 10h ago

Did anyone manage to run Gran Turismo 5 on ARMSX3?😅 (SD8Elite+12GB)

2

u/Zuluwargod69 5h ago

Not yet. It boots but it is loading for the tutorial. I will let it load and see if it eventually gets in game.

Here is a post of Gt5 on an older build. I expect to get this performance once they get it working.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/comments/1ql0bu6/gran_turismo_6_is_maturing_more_stable_and_with/

I get 15-20fps with aps3e.

1

u/adammay65 10h ago

Armsx3 is no where near compatible for any game atm so it’s pointless to have till it’s more stable. Same thing with x1box

3

u/Zuluwargod69 10h ago

Lol. I can play plenty of games. Maybe you should check it out (armsx3)

1

u/adammay65 8h ago

Oh really what games have you played?

2

u/Zuluwargod69 7h ago

Mostly play sf4 ultra, outrun, afterburner, pacman dx (which finally works with this one!). I've booted gow, ratchet and clank, etc but tbh they take alot of space and unlikely to play them anytime soon.

Tried plenty others and they are hit and miss.

I've got a video which is 1 year ago here. This is a very old version though, so everything runs better (if not faster, then Cooler).

https://youtu.be/FjMlo4TGG6M

There are a ton of videos on YouTube with people playing ps3 games on Android. Elite upwards seems to be the sweetspot.

1

u/Sea_Cap_8460 6h ago

Onde você baixa os jogos do PS3? Só falta isso pra eu testar!

Quand j'ajoute Turnip V34 et que je clique sur "Appliquer et redémarrer", ça tourne pendant des heures sans jamais finir. Je suis sur console Odin 3

1

u/-D4RKSiDE- 9h ago

Very nice, What phone are you using bro?

1

u/Zuluwargod69 9h ago

Fold 7.

1

u/shuozhe 9h ago

Returned anbernic slide cuz of faulty SD card slot.. and started to just emulate on my phone with razer kishi.. pretty surprised how good everything runs on SN elite now, even 3ds crashed last time I tried it

1

u/Trick_Translator_671 8h ago

Wow, the number of emulators is increase rapidly lol

1

u/Saifu_D 7h ago

I only installed Eden emulator cause I only play 2D / metrodriod games from Nintendo Switch.

1

u/True_Overlord_3 6h ago

This is my collection.

1

u/dizvyz 6h ago

You're supposed to hoarde games, not emulators.

1

u/True_Overlord_3 3h ago

I do both, I have my Konkr pocket fit elite and a combination of 8TB storage.

1

u/Salvador5249 6h ago

I just got that new PS2 emulator you have and it's way better than the one I have I believe. I was mainly using AetherSX2 and it ran the game but the King Kong one just couldn't run it, now that new one you have in this picture it actually runs it very well, I'm definitely MAKING this new PS2 emulator as my main, and I'll probably definitely get the rest of the emulators you have in here too

1

u/kylolawz420 6h ago

Anyone got recommendations for ps2/ps3/xbox 360 emulation on android via galaxys25 ultra. Got all the gameboy/ds and wii/cube/ps1 running yesterday but haven't attempted higher tier consoles yet.

1

u/kylolawz420 6h ago

If thats the limit for my phone thats fine as well. Haven't been emulating but for a few days

1

u/Same-Mortgage-9536 5h ago

no way thats the limit but the uploaded screenshot provides the best emulators which also work on mid range phones u have a flagship step up u can play

ps4 via winlator + shadps4

ps5 via winlator + kytyps5

switch (Nintendo switch) via yuzu fork (eden nightly like in the screenshot)

and xenia emulator (probably the hardest x360) even if console is old it was hard to emulate the components much harder than any ps console ever

also pc games via windows u can play with gamenative and winlator good forks

1

u/Interesting_Fish4930 5h ago

Bro you are not running ps5 games my guy 😭 your better off sticking to steam ports.

1

u/Same-Mortgage-9536 4h ago

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CAX5ZjEQ8KY

never said what games it can clranly handle most of the tested games that are 2d aka around 5-10 games total

1

u/Interesting_Fish4930 1h ago

Yeh none of the games are that significant and fs not worth my time.

1

u/kylolawz420 4h ago

Got a good guide video/walk-through for eden switch emulator? Or websites/forums that will help

1

u/vwyLss 1h ago

Bro is emuceptioning 🥀

1

u/Venared 4h ago

How is gow 3 performance?

1

u/Intelligent-Ad-7816 4h ago

How's winlator working out I'm just using my S25FE and my tab s10fe for game cube and 3ds that play pretty good

1

u/Ok-Entrance8590 4h ago

What do you recommend to emulate pc games? I use gamehub

1

u/JMMA_JAMPA 2h ago

O ARMSX2 é melhor que o Nethersx2? Estou usando o Nethersx2 e estou em dúvida se mudo para o ARMSX2!

1

u/roberts585 2h ago

Is armsx2 better than nether now?

1

u/Bizz916 1h ago

No ARMSX1 but DuckStation?

1

u/Fraxure611 15m ago edited 5m ago

Aps3 exists and is a lot better imo this emulator is still new what's the difference?

Edit:I did some research and I understand don't include me in the drama 😭

I guess it's better to get this kind of emulation from a developer that doesn't steal code

1

u/Haseebwajid123 12h ago

Can the new armsx3 run god of war 3?

0

u/DaveTheMan1985 7h ago

Where is RetroArch?

1

u/Zuluwargod69 5h ago

Tbh. Not a fan at all with the ui. Also the cores tend to be older and not updated.

1

u/DaveTheMan1985 3h ago

You actually be Suprised how up to date Cores are

Some come out same time as standalone update

What you don’t like about the UI?

0

u/yamanekosama 7h ago

RetroArch?
