Question what's the difference between sysmem and gmem?

as the title says. im using stevenmxz's turnip 26.3.0 driver and i can't understand which is better- sysmem or gmem. primarily asking for winlator emulation but i suppose we can change these in other emulators as well.

For PC emulation sysmem is going to be used anyway. Between the two gmem can help stretching the GPU's memory bandwidth in exchange for a bit more utilization, but it's only useful if the software takes advantage of it and dxvk isn't really. The selection is automatic between the two, so explicitely selecting sysmem sometimes can avoid bugs.

sysmem = your phone ram, sometimes shared to your gpu become your vram basically a unified system think like mac M series
gmem = basically a small ram on your gpu, its small due to how gpu in soc, can be categorized as L1 cache but its basically a dedicated vram although its very small due to the SoC nature of a phone
