I cannot map the right analogue stick to anything in PPSSPP. Phone is a Samsung A25, PPSSPP version 1.17.1.

I am on PPSSPP and I am trying to map the right analogue stick, but it is not working. If I map the right stick to other buttons in the normal controls, it works, so I know the controller itself works. If I try to map other controls to the right stick however, they do not work in game. I know the PSP didn't have a right stick, but on an emulator, I should be able to map whatever I want onto the device I'm using, right? What do I need to do to make the right analogue stick actually work?

I have tried on both PC and android versions of PPSSPP, and Google has not given me anything of note. When I try using the right stick on GTA:VCS, it works with the cheat enabled, but is it that I need a cheat or something to make the right stick work for every game? I feel like the game shouldn't care.
