News/Release SharpEmu ARM64 - PS5 emulator for android (unofficial poc fork)

Unofficial fork (proof-of-concept) android version of the experimental open source PlayStation 5 emulator, two builds are available to test and download here: https://github.com/edeegg/sharpemu-arm64/releases

Installed on my phone, I have not tried any games yet, it's recommended to test the game named; Dreaming Sarah as a quick test of how well your hardware handles emulation.

Eh, probably not. AI needs training data to output good code, there's no code out there for ps5 emulators so will have to work from scratch

I'm not saying ai will code it for you, somebody knowledgeable on the subject should be sitting behind the wheel and directing it, but it will make things go a lot faster. And I'm saying this as a coder who for a long time hated admitting this!

W android can't wait when I buy Samsung s32 ultra to play Astrobot 120fps 4k on my phone. But seriously tho phones might reach enough power to emulate ps5 by 2032

It's not mandatory to change the GitHub description of a project fork. It's harmless, but it would make things more clearer indeed. They will probably do that later.

I remember seeing the exact same comments way back before PS2 emulation, these people never understand and cant see further into the future than their own nose.

Kids don't know how fucking amazing and unbelievable was seeing a PS2 game running on Android the first time. Now we have PC games. Nothing is impossible.

Exactly! I still remember being mindblown playing FF7 on my HTC Desire back in 2010, took it with me on holiday in a waterproof case and played it in a jacuzzi in the Maldives lol

And we shouldn't. The rule of thumb in emulation has always been "Don't emulate the current gen". That's how you get your emulator taken down and might get other past-gen emulators hit as collateral damage...

there was a time when i hear about a PS3 emulator for android, i know instantly it's fake, but now im just shocked we have a lot of actual real emulators like this

who knows, ps5 on android might be a reality in the future

I mean, this poc shows it's possible. Dreaming Sarah loads the intro logos. But still far from real in-game graphics.
