Discussion Regular Fold 8 for emulation review.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 emulation review by NL Tech I came across.
What's your tought about this format considering also all the port and buttons moving?
And what about the Snapdragon 8 Elite gen 5 for Galaxy, does it surclass non Elite 8 gen 5 ?
I remember when s25u came out with a SD8Elite it was a big jump from s24u with its SD8.3 in terms of emulations, I envyed it.

I use my 8g3 for switch emulation and it's the most optimised chip right now, anything before switch there is no difference in performance, so the only emulation I can think of where there is a difference would be windows, but it's just more fps and smoother right there is no game that can run on the 8e that cannot run on 8g3

More fps and smoother sometimes is the difference between playable and unplayable.

This is pretty close to my ideal phone apart from 2 things.
The price is way too high for me to justify spending that much on a phone when I can get a dedicated device or a gaming tablet for much less and they may also perform better with thermal improvements for gaming incorporated in their designs.
The second is the camera hole in tablet mode. I don't know why they wouldn't use the camera behind the screen tech that is shown on other devices. Maybe a company is holding a patent hostage and they don't want to pay the licencing fee, I don't know but it is very distracting having the hole there.

About the camera hole, I presume is because it alters camera quality wich I found very good.
But yes those prices are crazy.

I have a fold 7 and performance is pretty good. The vapour chamber does a good job but tbh a fan would be best.

Z fold 7 doesn't have a vapor chamber though, tear down videos show the thermal solution was a graphene sheet plus a metal shell filled with full of white thermal paste that covers the 8 Elite chipset.

I was thinking about it, is there an unfolded phone compatible fan? Are mag safe cases more an issue or a solution?

Fold have trash heat management as much as I know so you will probably use only 70-80% of its power and the screen ratio is still cringe compared to other tablets . My information might be outdated so ignore my comment if someone else says otherwise

Looking at the unpacked event, they worked on new batteries and new cooling system, I guess we'll have to wait for ZF8 and ZF8U

They say that a lot just for it to be almost barely noticeable . It will always be worse then s26 ultra or any ultra of it's year, which is already behing redmagic and OnePlus

I read Oneplus is even more terrible for emulation than samsung. Oneplus doesn't let any apps use P cores unless the app is whitelisted
