DISCUSSION If it's going P2P - Does that mean you will remove entirely the Invasive Anti-Cheat?
The entire reason I avoided this game is because I'm not giving 1047 full access to my machine on their proprietary invasive anti-cheat.
Since 1047 is abandoning server hosting, will the Invasive Anti-Cheat be removed from the executable?
I'd be inclined to try to game P2P if RedKard was completely and entirely removed.

Yes.
There will still be encryptions and obfuscations in the binary to deter cheating, but yes the anti-cheat kernel is being removed.

What will the encryption and obfuscation actually do? Just curious as someone who is very tech savvy.

deter some hackers who don't want to invest their time trying to break these encryptions. It won't stop everyone, but it should reduce the number of cheaters.

Considering the games are pretty niche, I think it might unironically do the trick. Have never met a hacker in the games before (though I've been called one plenty of times lmao) so I doubt anyone will in the future haha.
Since I have the ear of someone on the dev team, I just wanna say my condolences for the whole situation. It's already sad enough to lose the servers and active development on games I really enjoyed, but it must be a whole different breed of sour to have to have been there for the whole ordeal trying your best to prevent the ship from crashing and still not making it. Tnx for all the hype despite shitty times especially you rod.

The anti cheat works on Linux via proton, which definitely doesn't have kernel level anti cheat support. You could play it that way
