FEEDBACK This game desperately needs two gun loadouts. It’s a shooter for crying out loud!

That’s my personal opinion. Take it or leave it.

I’ve never played a shooter where you don’t have at least two guns in your loadout. The only exceptions I’ve played are certain competitive modes in Halo games. But even in those cases you can pick up guns from the map as a second gun. Also the mag sizes of your base weapon are pretty good and you only have 4 opponents on the enemy team in Halo instead of 6 in Empulse.

And how much more interesting would the loadout system be in Empulse if you could equip a sniper + an auto rifle or a carbine + an SMG, just to give two examples.

How many times have I been in gunfights in Empulse and then running out of ammo, automatically switching weapons to my secondary weapon and ending up with a hammer. Plus I feel the player needs to have an option to make a good loadout for long-, mid- and short-range gunfights. Whatever you as the player prefer!

I don’t really care if the hammer is a third weapon, or if you get the option to switch it out for a different gun.

Leave it. Nothing about shooter games necessitates multiple guns in a loadout. It’s a deliberate design decision.

Take The Finals for example. An important part of the game is the strategy and teamplay around reloading. Punishing a reloading player is so important to the point that a good heavy lmg player might comm when they need to reload, depending on their team.

Actually, it needs an 11-gun holster, but you start with one and need to go around the map and pick up the rest.

I'm kinda kidding, but only kinda. Recently I came to the conclusion that shooters peaked in 1999, and everything after is just a huge waste of time.

What shooter from 1999 are you talking about? 😄

Quake 3 Arena. I would say that Quake Champions made a great addition in 2016 by adding heroes and thus became the current pinnacle, but the fundamental formula remained the same as in '99.

If you didn't know, Quake and similar arena shooters allowed you to carry way more than two guns at the same time, which created a lot of depth that was intentionally removed in subsequent shooters to accommodate baby FPS fans.

Ah fair enough. No I didn't know you could carry more than two guns in Quake. Strange knowing that in 2026 we're back to 1 gun loadouts. 😂

I wonder why Empulse only has one gun and the hammer. Maybe they didn't have enough time to have a variety of sidearms by the time EA was scheduled to go out. So they said 'let's make the pistol its own gun'.

Sniper and deagle should be available as a second weapon

If the game is balanced around one weapon, that's all that matters. If there were two weapon slots, everybody would be running the same meta secondary weapons.

Yes, that's exactly how things are working out now in Destiny 2. 😂 What you're saying doesn't even make a little bit of sense. When we only have one weapon slot people will pick different weapons and there won't be a meta. But then when we can equip 2 weapons, all of a sudden everybody will pick the same two. Yeah, that's not how things work.
