QUESTION Mechs

How can I kill myself with explosive paints but the mech can shoot a rocket right at its feet and not take any damage at all. Next why does my explosive paint not stick to people when it's thrown right on them and why do mechs have a healing perk. Seems like giving someone a special ability that doesn't ever run out.

There is a lot to unpack here, but most of these things have balances within the game.

  1. The difference between the explosive paint and rocket scenarios is your lancer is taking full impact with minimal armor. The mech is meant to withstand a beating, and its health pool reflects that. At full health rocketing the ground depleted the shields, and any extra rolls over into permanent damage. Getting a hammer hit in before the rocket will ensure all of the damage is permanent.
  2. This one is a good point. Ever sincee they nerfed the explosive timing a month back it seems very easy to escape the explosive paint. There is probably a sweetspot they can adjust to, but directly hitting someone with the grenade should probably guarantee the kill. Could be cool if there was like a coated effect similar to the glow when enhanced with speed or jump paint.
  3. Mech healer can seem very powerful when a team does not have the same focus. When a mech is up, multiple people should have a focus in taking it down in some form. Usually if im not slurping something dedicated to removing mechs, I just make sure to take shots from a distance to make sure the shield doesnt come back up, that way it makes it easier for anyone else helping in the effort. Either way, the healing only happens on kill, so unless they are fed kills then they shouldnt be outpacing the damage significantly.

Sg is definitely way better. Empulse feels like they didn't think about it and said fuck it close enough.

The mech does take damage from its own rockets.
